Excerpt: ...direct and cause the amount thereof to be paid to or for the benefit of the widow or widows, or child or children, or to any next-of-kin of the non-commissioned officer or private so dying, on such conditions and if, to or for the benefit of more than one person, in such proportions as to the Commissioner shall seem fit. 28. Any gratuity that would have been due and payable to Gratuities on any non-commissioned officer or private had he taken his discharge decease, under the provisions of these Regulations shall, in the event of his re-engaging for a further term and dying in the service before the completion of such term, be deemed for the purposes of these Regulations to be his personal property in the charge of the Treasurer for the time being, and shall be paid out and distributed Regiment may be temporarily increased.
