Operation of Wireless Communications Services in 2.3 GHz Band, etc. (US Federal Communications Commission Regulation) (FCC) (2018 Edition) The Law Library presents the complete text of the Operation of Wireless Communications Services in 2.3 GHz Band, etc. (US Federal Communications Commission Regulation) (FCC) (2018 Edition). Updated as of May 29, 2018 In this document, the Commission amends its rules to enable the deployment of mobile broadband services in the Wireless Communications Services (WCS) while limiting the potential for harmful interference to satellite radio users, aeronautical mobile telemetry (AMT) operations, and the Deep Space Network (DSN) research facility in Goldstone, CA. In addition, the Commission establishes enhanced performance requirements to ensure that WCS licensees use the spectrum intensively in the public interest. The Commission also adopts technical rules governing the operation of Satellite Digital Audio Radio Service (SDARS) terrestrial repeaters that will not constrain their function or deployment but will limit the potential for interference to adjacent-band WCS spectrum users, a blanket licensing regime for repeaters operating up to 12 kilowatts (kW) average equivalent isotropically radiated power (EIRP) that will facilitate their deployment, and rules that will ensure that SDARS repeaters remain truly complementary to a satellite-based service and are not used to transmit local programming or advertising. Operation of Wireless Communications Services in the 2.3 GHz Band - Establishment of Rules and Policies for the Digital Audio Radio Satellite Service (US Federal Communications Commission Regulation) (FCC) (2018 Edition) The Law Library presents the complete text of the Operation of Wireless Communications Services in the 2.3 GHz Band - Establishment of Rules and Policies for the Digital Audio Radio Satellite Service (US Federal Communications Commission Regulation) (FCC) (2018 Edition). Updated as of May 29, 2018 In this document, the Commission affirms, modifies, and clarifies its actions in response to various petitions for reconsideration and/or clarification. The revised rules are intended to enable Wireless Communications Service (WCS) licensees to deploy broadband services in the 2305-2320 MHz and 2345-2360 MHz (2.3 GHz) WCS bands while continuing to protect Satellite Digital Audio Radio Service (SDARS) operator Sirius XM Radio Inc. (Sirius XM) and aeronautical mobile telemetry (AMT) operations in adjacent bands and the deep space network (DSN) earth station in Goldstone, California from harmful interference. In addition, the revised rules will facilitate the flexible deployment and operation of SDARS terrestrial repeaters in the 2320-2345 MHz SDARS band, while protecting adjacent bands WCS licensees from harmful interference. Advanced Wireless Services (US Federal Communications Commission Regulation) (FCC) (2018 Edition) The Law Library presents the complete text of the Advanced Wireless Services (US Federal Communications Commission Regulation) (FCC) (2018 Edition). Updated as of May 29, 2018 This document establishes procedures for the relocation of Broadband Radio Service (BRS) operations from the 2150-2160/62 MHz band, as well as for the relocation of Fixed Microwave Service (FS) operations from the 2160-2175 MHz band, and modifies existing relocation procedures for the 2110-2150 MHz and 2175-2180 MHz bands. This document also establishes cost-sharing rules to identify the reimbursement obligations for Advanced Wireless Service (AWS) and Mobile Satellite Service (MSS) entrants benefiting from the relocation of incumbent FS operations in the 2110-2150 MHz and 2160-2200 MHz bands and AWS entrants benefiting from the relocation of BRS incumbents in the 2150-2160/62 MHz band. We continue our ongoing efforts to promote spectrum utilization and efficiency with regard to the provision of new services, including AWS. This document also dismisses a petition for reconsideration filed by the Wireless Communications Association International, Inc. (WCA) as moot. Service Rules for Advanced Wireless Services in the 2000-2020 MHz and 2180-2200 MHz Bands, etc. (US Federal Communications Commission Regulation) (FCC) (2018 Edition) The Law Library presents the complete text of the Service Rules for Advanced Wireless Services in the 2000-2020 MHz and 2180-2200 MHz Bands, etc. (US Federal Communications Commission Regulation) (FCC) (2018 Edition). Updated as of May 29, 2018 In this document, the Federal Communications Commission ("Commission") increases the Nation's supply of spectrum for mobile broadband by adopting flexible use rules for up to 40 megahertz of spectrum in the 2 GHz band (2000-2020 MHz and 2180-2200 MHz), which we term the AWS-4 band. In so doing, we carry out a recommendation in the National Broadband Plan that the Commission enable the provision of stand-alone terrestrial services in the 2 GHz Mobile Satellite Service (MSS) spectrum band. Specifically, we remove unnecessary regulatory barriers to mobile broadband use of this spectrum, and adopt service, technical, and licensing rules that will encourage innovation and investment in mobile broadband and provide a stable regulatory regime in which broadband deployment can develop. Commercial Operations in the 1695-1710 MHz, 1755-1780 MHz, and 2155-2180 MHz Bands (US Federal Communications Commission Regulation) (FCC) (2018 Edition) The Law Library presents the complete text of the Commercial Operations in the 1695-1710 MHz, 1755-1780 MHz, and 2155-2180 MHz Bands (US Federal Communications Commission Regulation) (FCC) (2018 Edition). Updated as of May 29, 2018 In this document, the Federal Communications Commission (Commission) adopts rules governing use of spectrum in the 1695-1710 MHz, 1755-1780 MHz, and 2155-2180 MHz bands that will make available significantly more commercial spectrum for Advanced Wireless Services. This additional 65 megahertz of spectrum for commercial use will help ensure that the speed, capacity, and ubiquity of the nation's wireless networks keeps pace with industry demands for wireless service. This is another step in implementing the Congressional directive in Title VI of the Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012 to make more spectrum available for flexible uses. Updated as of May 29, 2018 In this document, the Federal Communications Commission (Commission or FCC) adopts rules for specific millimeter wave (mmW) bands above 24 GHz. This action is undertaken to establish a regulatory framework for the use of these bands for the development of the next generational evolution of wireless technology. Once effective, these rules will promote the development of highly beneficial technologies, in particular the so-called 5G technology.
