DOWNLOAD EBOOKExcerpt from On Yuan Chwang's Travels in India: 629-645 A. D As regards the author's method of transliterating the name of the pilgrim I annex the copy of a letter by myself in the Journal of our society. Yuan-chwang is the correct presentation of the present Pekinese pronunciation. What would be the correct presentation, in English letters, of the way in which the pilgrim himself pronounced it, is not known. Full indices by the author and ourselves and two maps which Mr. Vincent Smith has been kind enough to undertake, will be included in the.l second volume, which is in the press, and which we hope to bring out in the course of next year.
