A loner in high school, Miyako is pulled into a (fake) relationship with school hottie, Koga-kun! It’s actually for the purpose of hiding the existence of the alien possessing his body, Chiro-chan. But unlike the kind-hearted Chiro-chan, Miyako finds herself constantly butting heads with the more sinister, Koga-kun. But she begins to notice that, underneath that foul attitude, Koga-kun is devoting himself to helping her!
Our heroine, whose name no one in school can remember, can’t decide what’s weirder—that the most popular guy in school, Koga-kun, wants to be her friend...or that he insists he’s an alien. But one thing’s for sure—he knows her name, and doesn’t seem ready to let her go through high school anonymous!
After running away from home, Koga-kun and Miyako finally reveal their true feelings, and become an actual couple… or so they thought. Along comes another alien, here to take Chiro-chan home. Which actually causes Koga-kun to lose his memories! That went south real fast! Miyako’s resolved to fight tooth and nail to ensure their happiness, but what will become of them?!

Examines a major Michigan timber baron and political figure who also founded a coal-mining empire in Kentucky. Near the turn of the twentieth century, "Pine King" Justus S. Stearns was Michigan's largest producer of manufactured lumber and the owner of a prosperous coal mining operation headquartered in Stearns, Kentucky, a town he founded. Over the course of his career, Stearns would own at least thirty manufacturing businesses—making everything from finished lumber to kitchen utensils, game boards, and motors—as well as hotels, a railroad, and a power company. He was also an active member of the Republican Party who served one term as Michigan's secretary of state and a philanthropist who gave a great deal of his wealth to causes in both Michigan and Kentucky. In Justus S. Stearns: Michigan Pine King and Kentucky Coal Baron, 1845–1933, author Michael W. Nagle details Stearns's astounding range of accomplishments and explores the influence of both paternalism and Social Darwinism in his business practices. Nagle begins by addressing key events in the first few decades of Stearns's life and his initial foray into the lumber industry. Subsequent chapters explore Stearns's political career, his timber operations in Wisconsin, and his coal, lumber, and railroad operations in Kentucky and Tennessee. Nagle also details the ancillary businesses that Stearns founded or purchased in the early twentieth century, even as his Stearns Salt & Lumber Company served as the anchor of his Michigan holdings, while Stearns Coal & Lumber did the same for his operations in Kentucky. The final chapter offers an overview and analysis of Stearns's lifetime of accomplishments, including his impact on the town of Ludington, Michigan, where he maintained a residence for over fifty years. Nagle makes extensive use of primary source material from several historical archives as well as contemporary newspaper accounts, court documents, company records, and other primary sources. American history scholars, as well as general readers interested in Michigan's lumbering era and Kentucky's mining history, will enjoy this biography of an exceptionally influential businessman.

How would you feel if you were convicted of a crime you did not commit? Would you lie down and do nothing? Would you accept the truth that the judicial system played out for you? Would you fight for the truth? Would you seek justice that isnt there for you? Would you do everything in your power to fight for your freedom? Or would you just allow the judicial system to tear your world apart? These are some of the things that I had to answer in my book Justice or just Us . . . You Decide. Justice or Just Us is an up close and personal account of the inadequacies of the judicial system on racial profiling. No matter what walk of life you come from, this can happen to you. It takes place in Eastbay, California in the city of Devils Bay. I was a 41yr old African American disabled woman that was wrongfully accused of a crime I did not commit. Before this happened in my life my record was clean. The charges were 2 counts of battery on a couple (man and woman). This couple befriended me, stole from me, lied about me, used me, and wanted to sue me to get money. On their last few days at living above me, they decided to put their plan into action. I walked out of my house, and was dragged into the bushes underneath the stairs at the apartments and beaten by them. As I lay there I am screaming bloody murder for they both were beating on my body, as I was begging someone to call the police, my poor black body was being brutally beaten. The Police told them to press charges against me. The Caucasian Officer said to me How dare you come into my town thinking you can beat up on my white women. At that point I knew I was in for a long hard, drug out fight of my life. In my story I will show you the evidence, the transcripts, all paperwork pertaining to this incident and bring you through the process. All I ask is to look at the evidence and decide for yourself if this was a fair verdict. From the Misrepresentation of Attorneys, to witnesses testimonies, to the unfair treatment at the hospital, to the inadequate judges in the trial and appeal process, all the way through to the sentencing and home monitoring. This book will take you through from the incident to the trial and beyond.
The final three books in the original Ava Delaney series: Taken, Taste, and Traitor. An urban fantasy adventure. Taken: It’s been months since Ava fooled the British vampires and dealt with Becca for good, but although life has been easier, it’s not without its problems. Her deal with the twins is physically harming her, Peter’s grasp on his sanity is tentative to say the least, Carl is struggling, and Esther is losing her edge. Ava’s been asking too many questions in an attempt to fulfil her various deals, but her persistence turns out to be the biggest problem. She’s not the only one asking questions, but somebody wants her to stop, and finding out who’s in charge is a lot harder than taking care of her new houseguest. To survive on her own terms, Ava must take control of her own destiny for a change. That might involve swallowing her pride and accepting help from those she doesn’t trust because there are new foes on the horizon, and the number of people needing her protection keeps on increasing. Taste: Someone is hunting down the people she’s promised to protect, but Ava’s taste for battle is slowly disappearing. She’s losing the people in her life, one by one, and without them, her inner light can only weaken. But the British Vampire Association have decided to take over Ireland, too, and to give the entire country a fighting chance, Ava must work with the Council and their secret weapons, and let the world see her true face. A sea of blood can’t wash away the deaths that will come, but Ava will make sure everyone gets what they deserve… Traitor: When Ava first saved Carl from a vampire, she had no idea what would happen next. Thrust into a world of magic, secrets, and betrayal, she’s barely managed to survive. All of the choices she’s made have led her deeper into trouble, and now, a year later, it’s time to grab some control again. Her enemies are making allies while Ava’s struggling to keep her friends. But even as the larger battles are fought, there’s another enemy creeping underneath, ready to plant distractions and take advantage of the aftermath. The dark days are coming, quicker than expected. It’s time for Ava to prove herself for the last time, but her final deal will prove the most costly.
