"The 2015 [Forest Action Plan] FAP is based on the Nebraska Statewide Forest Resource Assessment and Strategy conducted by the NFS in 2010. The FAP identifies key issues of prime importance to our tree and forest resources, updates forested areas of high priority for intervention, describes a range of accomplishments achieved since 2010 in implementing the first Statewide Forest Resource Assessment and Strategy, and presents a wealth of strategic goals, opportunities and actions for sustainably managing these critically important resources .... The Nebraska FAP identifies strategic goals based on national objectives collaboratively crafted by both the National Association of State Foresters and the [United States Forest Service] USFS State & Private Forestry Program. The strategic goals and actions identified in this document serve as a blueprint for focusing private, state and federal resources in areas of Nebraska where they will be most effective" (page 1).

The Montreal Process was formed to advance the development of internationally agreed-upon criteria & indicators for sustainable forest management. The Canadian commitment to this process is demonstrated by the development of a domestic set of seven criteria & indicators, six of this relate to forest conditions, attributes, functions, or benefits. The seventh relates to the overall policy framework that can facilitate sustainable forest management and support efforts to conserve, maintain, or enhance the conditions, attributes, and benefits captured in the first six criteria. This report begins with an introduction describing forest ecosystems and forest management in Canada, explaining the area of forest covered by the report, and indentifying Canada-specific forest management characteristics to help place the criteria & indicators framework in context. The main section contains reports on the criteria, each with an introduction and reports on the corresponding indicators (what is being measured, indicator data or factual description, information sources). The final section contains a summary of all the criteria as well as an overview of Canada's ability to report on them and plans to enhance reporting capability in the future. Includes glossary.

Second in the series of TERI’s annual flagship publication on global sustainable development, People, Planet and Progress Beyond 2015 examines six critical issues of the Planet (climate change, ozone layer depletion, loss of biodiversity, desertification, unsustainable use of natural resources, and environmental pollution) and six crucial issues of the People (food security and safety, health and well-being, education and learning, sustainable habitat, energy for all, and social justice and equity), reviews the Progress made by various regions and countries of the world on each of these issues, and analyses the challenges and opportunities ahead, particularly in the contexts of post-2015 global development agendas, ushered by the Paris Climate Agreement, UN Sustainable Development Goals, and Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. The analysis is supported by primary data from authentic sources on a wide range of indicators that make the volume an invaluable resource material on contemporary discourses on global development.
