DOWNLOAD EBOOKThe percentage of households in the United States with television sets increased slightly during 1960 and early 1961, according to the results of a recent survey conducted by the Bureau of the Census, Department of Commerce. The survey indicates that 89 percent in May 1960, and 86 percent in May 1959. These recent rates of increase are much below earlier rates. In 1950, when the first comprehensive information on the subject was obtained in the 1950 Census of Housing, only 12 percent of all households had one or more television sets; in June 1955, when the first survey of this series was conducted, 67 percent of all households had one or more television sets.
