Mortimer and Cousin Max have some new Watch Hill adventures not only at the Ocean House but also downtown at the merry-go-round. You might know about the first two books, Mortimer Mouse of the Ocean House, which documents the demolition of the hotel landmark and its sequel, Mortimer Mouse and the NEW Ocean House, which tells of the reconstruction and replication of the structure. This new story traces mouse summer days, exercising on the croquet wickets across the street from their chapel home, nibbling in the herb garden and playing on the flag poles. Mortimer and Max make some half-hearted attempts to get into the elegant new hotel, but it isn't until they see a dropped Cheese Workshop invitation on the street that they feel compelled to plan out how to enter the building and attend. What mouse wouldn't want to know how to make cheese? One of the church mice, Weezie, wants to go with them. His allergies had prevented him from going on other escapades, but he s sure there s no dust at the new Ocean House. The three mice enter undetected and hide during the cheese-making instructions. When the participants go for lunch, the mice hop up onto the counter and start stretching the mozzarella with Weezie as look-out. A big problem arises when Weezie sneezes, but with any predicament, those resourceful cousins usually have a strategy. Reading the book will disclose what happens. All three books are told with animal illustrations scanned in on actual photographs. From the pictorial history of the hotel from 1868 on to present at the end of the first book to the documentation photographs of the construction site, the author's format shows the actual scenes and events that have made the Ocean House so remarkable. This feature makes the books of interest to adults as well as children.

Veteran TV news producer Matt Fallon has covered the local Philadelphia news market for years and has seen it all: murders, fires, and natural disasters. But while on a seashore vacation, a respite from the mayhem, the unthinkable happens: his own 10-year-old son disappears into thin air. Police soon discover the boy in a nearby motel room, only to find that he had been subjected to a horrific medical experiment. With little evidence and no suspects, Matt begins his own search for the perpetrators under the guise of doing a special news series for his flagging TV station, Philly4. Driven by fury to avenge his chronically ill son, Matt's probe leads him to a dark place, not only in the real world but also in the shadowy realm created by television news images. As his investigation gets nearer to the core of the crime and the danger increases, Matt discovers that his fury and hate doubleback on him!
