DOWNLOAD EBOOKMorrison family correspondence includes letters from John to his father Robert, his sister Mary, and her husband, Dr Benjamin Hobson. The letters give a good picture of life in Canton and Macau during the 1830's. The collection appears to have been received or assembled by Mary. There are also letters from William Leslie in Macau to his parents in Scotland in 1841-42. William was the brother of Patrick Leslie, who brought the first stock to the Darling Downs. Two other brothers also emigrated to Australia, marrying the daughters of Hannibal Macarthur. The connection between Morrison and Leslie is not clear.
