Mongolia has made great strides in fostering a market economy and promoting macroeconomic stability under the Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility (PRGF) Arrangement. Executive Directors welcomed this step, and stressed the need to improve economic governance, fiscal and monetary policies, and accelerate structural reforms. They appreciated the fiscal transparency and accountability, realistic budgeting, better treasury management, and the privatization and energy sector reform. They agreed that the government's reform program merits the support of the international community, and approved the request for a three-year arrangement under the PRGF.
A technical assistance (TA) mission was conducted during September 5–9, 2016, to support the National Statistical Office of Mongolia (NSO) improve measurement of, and decision making with, natural resources in national accounts statistics. The mission was funded by the Topical Trust Fund on Managing Natural Resource Wealth1 and furthered development of Guide to Analyze Natural Resources in National Accounts2 (the Guide). The mission built on work undertaken by the NSO since the previous TA mission conducted in December 2015.

This 2013 Article IV Consultation highlights economic developments and policies of Mongolia between 2003 and 2013. The resulting balance-of-payments (BOP) pressures have been compounded by negative shocks to foreign direct investment (FDI) and coal exports. The IMF report analyzes that various banking sector vulnerabilities and weaknesses in the business climate need to be addressed to steady the progress of the economy. Launch of new investment law is important to be introduced by the government to improve the business climate and encourage FDI inflows.

Over the last thirty years, issues of gender have been creatively explored within the field of mission studies. Whereas the life and work of female missionaries have been fruitfully reflected upon, male gender identity has often been understood as an unchanging category. This book offers a pioneering account of the relationship between missionary work and masculinity. By examining four individual men this study explores how self-making occurred within foreign missions, but also how conceptions of male gender informed missionary work. Changes that occurred in the lives of these men are placed within the broader context of how issues of gender were renegotiated within the contemporary missionary movement.
