Tasha is an adventurous young mermaid with a deep love for the ocean and a longing to explore the world above the waves. When a magical sea witch grants her the gift of legs, Tasha seizes the opportunity to venture onto land for the first time. At camp, Tasha is dismayed to find humans wrapped in fabric to imitate mermaids, hindering their ability to swim properly. Driven by a sense of responsibility, Tasha decides to establish a mermaid camp of her own to teach children the true art of swimming like a mermaid. At Mermaid Camp, Tasha emphasizes full-body swimming techniques and warns against relying solely on the knees to prevent injury. But it's not all about swimming - Tasha also instills in her campers a passion for protecting the planet. Through beach cleanups and other hands-on activities, Tasha shows them how to become advocates for clean oceans and appreciate the beauty of the sea and its wildlife. As Tasha guides the children on an enlightening journey from sea to land, this heartwarming tale reminds us of the power of individual actions and how one mermaid's mission can make a difference. With relatable characters and a timely message about environmental awareness, "Mermaid Tasha Goes to Camp" is an entertaining story for readers of all ages.

Mermaid Sealeigh is from the Indian Ocean. She is a blue dragon mermaid, and she has dragon transformation powers, meaning she can change the color and shape of her tail and hair. She can also change into other beings like unicorns, fairies, and even humans - though she likes being a mermaid best. She likes to model her tail like the Glaucus atlanticus because she loves their color scheme and shape of their phalanges. She also shares their love of eating jellyfish particularly the Portuguese Man of War, which unfortunately makes her venomous to the touch after she eats them. She loves to dance and often visits the mainland to see the belly dancers work with silk veils, swords, and fans. One day she got caught up in a terrible hurricane that swept her clean across the globe and smack dab into a pool at a hotel in Ocean City MD. Weak from the ordeal she couldn't use her transformation powers and was stuck there. The pool water was making her sick because of all the chemicals. Some human children came to her aid and brought her food, but none of it was what she was used to. She was also terribly lonely without any other mermaids to be with her. At a loss of what else to do the human children sought out Mermaid Tasha and asked her to come rescue Sealeigh. Tasha came with her pirate friends and they were able to get Sealeigh back to her natural environment. In exchange for their help, Sealeigh promised to help Tasha with cleaning up the seas and spread the word about being kind to the environment. Even though Ocean City isn't Sealeigh's home, she loves to visit her good friend Tasha and all her lovely human environmental warriors.

He was the final addition to Universal's "royal family" of movie monsters: the Creature from the Black Lagoon. With his scaly armor, razor claws and a face only a mother octopus could love, this Amazon denizen was perhaps the most fearsome beast in the history of Hollywood's Studio of Horrors. But he also possessed a sympathetic quality which elevated him fathoms above the many aquatic monsters who swam in his wake. Everything you ever wanted to know about the Gill Man and his mid-1950s film career (Creature from the Black Lagoon, Revenge of the Creature, The Creature Walks Among Us) is collected in this book, packed to the gills with hour-by-hour production histories, cast bios, analyses, explorations of the music, script-to-screen comparisons, in-depth interviews and an ocean of fin-tastic photos.

Books on intercultural communication are rarely written with an intercultural readership in mind. In contrast, this multinational team of authors has put together an introduction to communicating across cultures that uses examples and case studies from around the world. The book further covers essential new topics, including international conflict, social networking, migration, and the effects technology and mass media play in the globalization of communication. Written to be accessible for international students too, this text situates communication theory in a truly global perspective. Each chapter brings to life the links between theory and practice and between the global and the local, introducing key theories and their practical applications. Along the way, you will be supported with first-rate learning resources, including: • theory corners with concise, boxed-out digests of key theoretical concepts • case illustrations putting the main points of each chapter into context • learning objectives, discussion questions, key terms and further reading framing each chapter and stimulating further discussion • a companion website containing resources for instructors, including multiple choice questions, presentation slides, exercises and activities, and teaching notes. This book will not merely guide you to success in your studies, but will teach you to become a more critical consumer of information and understand the influence of your own culture on how you view yourself and others.
