Extension of the Standard model can enhance the interactions between four vector bosons, so the couplings deviate from their predicted value due to new quartic-gauge-boson interactions. Searches for those deviations are model-independent and cover a wide range of possible new physics. This thesis describes the measurement of exclusive production of W-boson pairs and the search for WW\gamma\gamma anomalous quartic gauge couplings at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) using a data set corresponding to 20.2 fb-1 of proton-proton collisions collected by the ATLAS detector in 2012. This analysis considers the W+W- decay modes leading to e\mu leptons. At the LHC, exclusive interactions are characterized by the absence of additional activity in the vicinity of interaction vertices. A technique based on tracks was developed to select the exclusive event candidates. The technique accepts approximately 60% of the signal, while eliminates most of the background due to suppression by 3--4 orders of magnitude. Additional background reduction is achieved by rejecting the region pT^{e\mu}

The D0 and CDF Collaborations measure boson pair production including W[gamma], WW, WZ, ZZ and Z[gamma] production in p{anti p} collisions at √s = 1800 GeV. New results, from direct measurements, are described including W[gamma], WW, and Z[gamma] production cross sections and limits on non-Standard Model triple gauge boson couplings. The limits on anomalous WW[gamma], WWZ, Z[gamma][gamma] and ZZ[gamma] couplings are the most restrictive available. Prospects for Run II are discussed.

Direct measurements of the trilinear gauge boson couplings by the D0 collaboration at Fermilab are reported. Limits on the anomalous couplings were obtained at a 95% CL from four diboson production processes: W[gamma] production with the W boson decaying to e[nu] or [mu][nu], WW production with both of the W bosons decaying to e[nu] or [mu][nu], WW/WZ production with one W boson decaying to e[nu] and the other W or Z boson decaying to two jets, and Z[gamma] production with the Z boson decaying to ee, [mu][mu], or [nu][nu]. Limits were also obtained from a combined fit to W[gamma], WW → dileptons and WW/WZ → e[nu]jj data samples.

Measurements of the production cross section times branching ratio for $W + \gamma$ and $Z + \gamma$ processes, where the W decays into a muon and neutrino and the Z decays into a muon pair, have been made from the analysis of 18.6 $\pm$ 0.7 $pb\sp{-1}$ of high-$P\sb{T}$ muon data from proton-antiproton (pp) collisions. The data were collected with the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF) during the 1992-93 run. In a search for central photons ($\vert\eta\vert\

A measurement of the simultaneous production of a W and a Z boson (WZ production) via vector boson scattering is presented. The measurement is performed in the leptonic decay modes WZ --> lvl'l', where l, l' indicate an electron or muon. The analysis is based on a data sample of proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 13 TeV at the CERN Large Hadron Collider collected with the Compact Muon Solenoid detector and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb-1. The WZ plus two jet production cross section is measured in fiducial regions with enhanced contributions from electroweak (EW) production and found to be consistent with standard model predictions. The EW WZ production in association with two jets is measured with an observed (expected) significance of 2.2 (2.5) standard deviations. Results are also interpreted in terms of physics beyond the standard model modifying the interactions of the W and Z bosons. Constraints on charged Higgs boson production and on anomalous quartic gauge couplings in terms of dimension-eight effective field theory operators are presented.

Direct measurements of vector boson pair production processes and trilinear gauge boson couplings have been conducted by the CDF and D0 Collaborations. Preliminary results from searches for anomalous WW/WZ [yields] [mu][nu] jet jet and WZ [yields] eee[nu] production are presented. 95% CL anomalous coupling limits from previously published D0 results are -0.20

This Letter describes the current most precise measurement of the W boson pair production cross section and most sensitive test of anomalous WW[gamma] and WWZ couplings in p{bar p} collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. The WW candidates are reconstructed from decays containing two charged leptons and two neutrinos, where the charged leptons are either electrons or muons. Using data collected by the CDF II detector from 3.6 fb−1 of integrated luminosity, a total of 654 candidate events are observed with an expected background contribution of 320 ± 47 events. The measured total cross section is [sigma](p{bar p} 2!WW− + X) = 12.1 ± 0.9 (stat){sub -1.4}{sup +1.6} (syst) pb, which is in good agreement with the standard model prediction. The same data sample is used to place constraints on anomalous WW[gamma] and WWZ couplings.

The results from the direct measurements of the trilinear gauge boson couplings are reported using the data taken with the D[null] detector at Fermilab. The limits on the anomalous coupling parameters were obtained at the 95% CL from three processes, [ital WW/WZ] production with the subsequent[ital W] boson decay to an electron and a neutrino and the second[ital W] or[ital Z] boson decay to two jets and[ital W][sub[gamma]] and[ital Z][sub[gamma]] productions with the subsequent[ital W] and[ital Z] boson decays to electron and muon channels.
