I am physically disabled, that is, a dwarf (pseudoachondroplasia) with advanced arthritis (especially in the fingers), degeneration of the cartilages in the shoulders, hips and knees, and a less than 50% level of workplace endurance. As a result, I was placed on permanent disability and can no longer work the proverbial 9-5 job. Since I can no longer work a regular job, I do have the ability to write books - and this is my first published book. It was written for all who hunger to learn the truth (as I have learned) of what the Bible reveals and teaches about how to overcome false prophets, the world, the wicked one, the flesh, as well as how to live a God-fearing life to glorify Him. There are only seeds of truth planted and watered in this book...but God will give the increase, 1 Corinthians 3:6-7. He draws all men to Himself, John 6:44; 14:6 ... not me, nor any other writer. Let the word of the Lord Jesus Christ have free course and be glorified; and let many of the readers of this book be edified, comforted, and matured unto perfection in Him. D. For years this particular principle on the Doctrine Of Perfection has been feared, misunderstood, and frankly not taught correctly. In Hebrews 6:1, Paul clearly states "let us go on unto perfection." Perfection simply means "completion, going on to maturity." Therefore perfection is all about maturing in Christ Jesus as Paul said in Colossians 1:28, "that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus." Jesus said in Matthew 5:48, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." Over and over again we are admonished in Scripture and exhorted to reach this place of perfection. Perfection is a sound Biblical principle. In I Peter 5:10, the Lord makes it very clear that "after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you." The Lord wants to make us perfect. David prayed, "The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me" (Psalms 138:8). So is perfection an attainable goal? Absolutely. The way to perfection is through the grace of God, the Spirit of God, through study and devotion to the Word of God, and through an ongoing intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus. Perfection is all about allowing God to finish in our lives what He began. Somebody somewhere is going to reach perfection. I do not know about you, but I want to obtain all that God has spoken for me to have. I want to be everything God wants me to be. Psalms 50:2 says, "Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined." Shining forth within a people is ultimately what God wants. He wants to inhabit a people so completely but in order to do that He has to perfect them. He has to fill every chamber with His goodness and glory and drive out the former occupants so we as His people can be true examples "changed into the same image from glory to glory," even as He is perfect. God bless you as you study and read this manual, the last in our doctrinal series. My heart's prayer is that it helps you and that you, as Philippians 3:14 exhorts, keep pressing "toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

Maturing in Christ focuses on Christian truth that relates to living a successful spiritual life. Before a Christian can realize a consistent victorious spiritual life some basic truths must be understood: 1) the riches given by God at salvation to live Christ-like; 2) who the spiritual enemies are and how they attack; 3) and how to utilize divine enabling when resisting the enemies in order to live a successful Christian life. The Christian has three spiritual enemies: Satan, the world system and the sin nature. Dr. Schafer uses Scripture to identify these adversaries and how to access God's provisions for the strength to be victorious over them. This expository study of the Word is dedicated to Dr. Schafer's lifelong desire for saints to live Christ-like. H. LaVern Schafer served the Lord in several capacities for over 65 years as a Christian. He was pastor for 53 years, seminary professor for 44 years, and director of Dispensational Theological Seminary for 28 years. He earned his Doctorate of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary, where his class was one of the last taught by Dr. Lewis Sperry Chafer. Dr. Schafer practiced a literal interpretation of Scripture. He believed that God's Word is meant to be interpreted literally to determine the exact concepts God is communicating and not what the reader wishes the Word to say. This desire resulted in a dispensational approach while interpreting Scripture with a historical linguistic treatment of the original text. His Christian Life series of booklets have been a blessing to thousands of believers. He went home to be with the Lord in 2008.

The Apostle Paul realized that he was an infant in the faith after his encounter with the Lord Jesus on the road to Damascus. He experienced what was required to become a member of Christ's body and to walk as a mature Christian. Therefore, he wanted to share these truths with the Ephesians and with us. What does he do? First, he presents doctrine regarding the Holy Spirit, the Lord Jesus Christ, and God the Father. Then, he focuses on the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. Why? He knew we needed to acquire knowledge of God's Word and develop a personal relationship with the Triune God. He concludes this portion of Scripture with comforting words and stern warnings. The former assures us of attaining spiritual maturity, whereas the latter warns against the predators espousing false doctrine, trickery, cunning craftiness, and deceit, which are only overcome by an intimate knowledge of the Son of God.

Andrew Murray (9 May 1828 - 18 January 1917) was a South African writer, teacher and Christian pastor. Murray considered missions to be "the chief end of the church". Murray pastored churches in Bloemfontein, Worcester, Cape Town and Wellington, all in South Africa. He was a champion of the South African Revival of 1860. In 1889, he was one of the founders of the South African General Mission (SAGM), along with Martha Osborn and Spencer Walton. After Martha Osborn married George Howe, they formed the South East Africa General Mission (SEAGM) in 1891. SAGM and SEAGM merged in 1894. Because its ministry had spread into other African countries, the mission's name was changed to Africa Evangelical Fellowship (AEF) in 1965. AEF joined with Serving In Mission (SIM) in 1998 and continues to this day. Through his writings, Murray was also a key Higher Life or Keswick leader, and his theology of faith healing and belief in the continuation of the apostolic gifts made him a significant forerunner of the Pentecostal movement. This book exposes some of the lies that have been told to us from across God's pulpit for centuries by some pastors, ministers, and parents. The book also focuses on some truths that they won't preach because they think it will blow the financial doors off the church and put them out of business. Its just like the Pharisees thought about what Jesus was preaching. Although the teachings seemed to be light, it has kept a lot of us in darkness for a long time. It's time now for us to stop drinking milk and to eat some meat. Most of us professed Christians have no clue of who we really are in God or have no real idea of how to be the person that Gods says in His word that we can be. So let's grow and mature together into the perfection that God has said we can be and are called to be.
