The original basis for this book came from the Cloth Workers Foundation's project on Fluid Preserved Collections at the Natural History Museum in London, 2014. Further input was derived from the first Symposium on Fluid Collections at the Musée national d'histoire naturellein Paris in 2018. At this symposium, results on conservation research on historic fluids and historic preservation methods were presented. Each chapter provides baselines for achieving optimal storage and maintenance of collections and offers three different categories based on collections size, usage and resources.
