This book is based on some of those experiences. Although I am not one of the main characters, it depicts the consequences of what lies, betrayal, and deception can cause. David thought he had it all but when he left his first love and moved to a different state to live his dream life, his life changed drastically. He remarried someone whom he thought was going to make his life complete. A wealthy, young, and beautiful doctor like himself, only she was a wolf in sheep clothing. She was living a double life while David praises and protects her. His first wife went through the worst and because she came from a poor and abusive family, she treated her child the way her mother treated her. She believes that lying to the ones she loves would save them the pain, only, in the end, it caused more harm. Suicide was an option for some, while drugs and alcohol were also a way out for others. Lies, betrayal, deception, these actions ruined the lives of these two families causing some to take their own lives. This thrilling book should teach us that being genuine and loyal to others will keep trust in any relationship. Also, drugs, alcohol nor suicide are the way to deal with the problems we face in life. Some of these can be an addiction, low-self-esteem, or even a sense of belonging. A simple talk with someone can help cure some of our everyday issues in life.

What is it like to recover from betrayal of trust today in a culture that is blind to the trauma and impatient with grief? When her long-time partner suddenly left her shortly before their wedding, the author found nothing had prepared her for the depth and duration of the pain. Despite having lived through her husband's death years earlier, she was stunned by the intensity of the suffering and could not understand why this shock hit so hard. Her loss of faith in this one person precipitated an existential and spiritual crisis that called her very understanding of human nature into question, and she wanted to know why. As she wrested with what turned out to be a massive trauma, she began to keep careful notes of her inner life-hoping to capture the paradoxes of love, grief and longing mixed with bewilderment and post-traumatic stress. With fearlessness and bracing frankness, she succeeds. "Love and the Mystery of Betrayal" seamlessly blends research and reflection, love and heartbreak, rage and transformation, and the personal with the collective. The deep, engaging writing provides the type of solace only a kindred spirit who has been there can. This achingly moving chronicle and meditation on the mysteries of love and betrayal shows how faith and love can triumph even after the most life-shattering revelations and loss. "This story of heartbreak has a rare quality: it is absolutely honest." -Ginette Paris, PhD, "Heartbreak" ..".a powerful book that will serve many." -Tara Brach, PhD, "Radical Acceptance," "True Refuge" "Sandra Dennis does not sugar-coat the experience of abandonment and betrayal with easy tips on getting over it or with spiritual bypass sleight of hand.... A much needed contribution to our collective healing..." -Francis Weller, Founder of Wisdom Bridge, "Entering the Healing Ground" "What Sandra Dennis tells us about the transformative power of suffering is so important and so true. I hope many read this book; many surely are in need of it." -Fr. Richard Rohr, "Silent Compassion," "Breathing Underwater" ..".a rare and beautiful book...invaluable for anyone interested in harnessing the deepest human heartbreak as a crucible for spiritual awakening....a triumph of spirit." -Miranda Macpherson, "Boundless Love" ..".a powerful and thoughtful book right from the heart that will be a source of comfort and assistance to a lot of hurting people." -Lundy Bancroft, "Why Does He Do That?" ..".probes the subject of betrayal in an almost kinesthetic way, like a dance that is also superbly intelligent." -Charlie Fisher, PhD," Meditation in the Wild" and "Dismantling Discontent" "What a remarkable book Sandra Dennis has written! I celebrate her courage and discoveries, and welcome her home!" -Gangaji, "Hidden Treasure," "A Diamond in Your Pocket"

The Death of the Heart is perhaps Elizabeth Bowen's best-known book. As she deftly and delicately exposes the cruelty that lurks behind the polished surfaces of conventional society, Bowen reveals herself as a masterful novelist who combines a sense of humor with a devastating gift for divining human motivations. In this piercing story of innocence betrayed set in the thirties, the orphaned Portia is stranded in the sophisticated and politely treacherous world of her wealthy half-brother's home in London. There she encounters the attractive, carefree cad Eddie. To him, Portia is at once child and woman, and her fears her gushing love. To her, Eddie is the only reason to be alive. But when Eddie follows Portia to a sea-side resort, the flash of a cigarette lighter in a darkened cinema illuminates a stunning romantic betrayal--and sets in motion one of the most moving and desperate flights of the heart in modern literature.

Jesus’ understanding of love separates him from many of the great religious leaders in world history. Jesus believed it was possible to love every person we encounter: children, partners, friends, strangers, the vulnerable, the poor, enemies, and planet Earth itself. The meaning of life is not mysterious after all. According to Jesus, the purpose of our existence is to love and be loved. When we take our last breath, our life will be measured by the love we gave to each person we encountered. The secret of life, it turns out, is not a secret at all.

Some call the imaginal the realm of the archetypes, the home of the gods and goddesses, the land of the daimon, or the source of creativity. Others simply call it the soul. The daimon of the imaginal world facilitate the incarnation of soul into the physical body, and transforming these dark energies allows us to progress as spiritual beings, to live life from a more conscious view. Sandra Dennis suggests that attitudes devaluing the erotic, feminine, instinctual energies particularly those of sexuality, and destructiveness and the marginalization of bodily sensation itself, block these daimonic soul images from incarnating. She discusses our tendency to block these transforming forces and offers suggestions on how to embrace and reclaim them to allow for a more integrated existence. She explains sensations associated with daimonic imagery fragmentation, rage, anxiety, pain, also the other side ecstasy, bliss, orgasmic release understanding that all of these sensations form the basis for profound change in the sense of self. Betrayal – The act of thwarting a person’s trust, revealing information in violation of confidence, or failing to honor a promise. Josiah knows all about betrayal. In the glamorous Bluegrass world of oak-cured bourbon, antebellum mansions, and Thoroughbred horse farms, betrayals never die—never remain hidden. The dark and bloody land called Kentucky eventually gives up its secrets from its dark, loamy soil, laying them bare for all to see. The day starts out innocently with Josiah visiting Hunter, her boyfriend, and his new farm assistant, Palley. The young man tells Josiah of his desire to enter the demolition derby at the county fair. Ever since Palley received his driver’s license, he has been waiting to compete, but he needs an old beater of a car to enter. Josiah tells Palley he is welcome to use an old jalopy that’s been gathering dust in an unused barn on her property. Josiah and an excited Palley travel to her shed. Pulling off an old tarp, they examine the car until they find—you guessed it—a body in the back. Whose body is it? How did it get there? Josiah is on the trail of murder again. In the mysterious Bluegrass, there’s justice, and then there is Josiah’s justice!
