Sin contratiempos diremos de este autor: que nació en el tiempo y en el espacio de este siglo para escribir este poemario, "libro", (como diría Gabriel García Márquez "donde el escritor vacio todas sus tripas"), y en efecto donde literalmente derramo sus entrañas. Escrito en un lenguaje sencillo pero muchas veces audaz. Sus poemas están escritos con un ritmo lírico vivas y sinfónico, pues hay momentos como que el lector se halla frente al amor de su vida bajo una pieza musical, como en el poema: "Una conversación con el mar", "La mirada de un amor infinito", "Tardes y mañanas Tristes", o "Amor en las Alturas", donde nos traslada con un idealismo casi medieval y de una manera dramáticamente magistral. Sin duda alguna que estos poemas están escritos con un romanticismo a la altura de Neruda. Orlando Carcamo es un escritor que es imposible compararlo con ninguno ni con cualquiera así como sus poemas son simple y sencillamente únicos. In the terms of Durheimian sociology, conversion is a fait social. Although they are rarely treated as a cultural phenomenon, conversions can obviously be examined for the norms, values and presuppositions of the cultures in which they take place. Thus conversion can help us to shed light on a particular culture. At the same time, the term evokes a dramatic appeal that suggests a kind of suddenness, although in most cases conversion implies a more gradual process of establishing and defining a new - religious - identity. From 21-24 May 2003, the University of Groningen hosted an international conference on 'Cultures of Conversion'. The contributions have been edited in two volumes, which pay special attention to the modes of language and idiom in conversion literature, the meaning and sense of religious-ideological discourse, the variety of rhetorical tropes, and the effects of the conversion narrative with allusions to religious or political conventions and idealizations. The present volume contains theoretical contributions on the theory of conversion, with special attention to the rational choice theory, and on the history of research into conversion. It also offers stimulating case studies, ranging from the late Middle Ages to present times and taken from Germany, Great Britain and The Netherlands. The other volume, Cultures of Conversion, offers in-depth studies of conversion that are mainly taken from the history of India, Islam and Judaism, ranging from the Byzantine period to the new Muslimas of the West.

The Neo-Indians is a rich ethnographic study of the emergence of the neo-Indian movement—a new form of Indian identity based on largely reinvented pre-colonial cultures and comprising a diverse group of people attempting to re-create purified pre-colonial indigenous beliefs and ritual practices without the contaminating influences of modern society. There is no full-time neo-Indian. Both indigenous and non-indigenous practitioners assume Indian identities only when deemed spiritually significant. In their daily lives, they are average members of modern society, dressing in Western clothing, working at middle-class jobs, and retaining their traditional religious identities. As a result of this part-time status the neo-Indians are often overlooked as a subject of study, making this book the first anthropological analysis of the movement. Galinier and Molinié present and analyze four decades of ethnographic research focusing on Mexico and Peru, the two major areas of the movement’s genesis.
