El presente volumen se organiza en nueve apartados, el primero de los cuales proporciona algunos antecedentes y orientaciones de lo que la planificación de la infraestructura debe considerar como objetivos principales. En el primer capítulo se plantean las condiciones para que México transite hacia la sostenibilidad; le sigue un texto donde se aborda el financiamiento de infraestructura, mientras que los capítulos III y IV abordan el tema de transporte. Los capítulos V y VI tratan sobre la distribución de mercancías y el incremento de la resiliencia de la infraestructura urbana, respectivamente. La obra cierra con un epílogo y una sección con las semblanzas de los autores.
The book showcases examples of university engagement in community initiatives and reports on the results from research and from a variety of institutional projects and programmes. As a whole, the book illustrates how actors at the community (microlevel) and other levels (meso and macro) can make valuable and concrete contributions to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and, more specifically, to achieving the objectives defined at the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It is one of the outcomes of the “Second World Symposium on Sustainability Science”, which was jointly organised by the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (Brazil), the Research and Transfer Centre “Sustainable Development and Climate Change Management” and the “European School of Sustainability Science and Research” at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany), in cooperation with the Inter-University Sustainable Development Research Programme (IUSDRP).
This book of Advances in Intelligent and Soft Computing contains accepted papers presented at CISIS 2021 and ICEUTE 2021, all conferences held in the beautiful and historic city of Bilbao (Spain), in September 2021. The aim of the 14th CISIS 20121 conference is to offer a meeting opportunity for academic and industry-related researchers belonging to the various, vast communities of computational intelligence, information security, and data mining. The need for intelligent, flexible behavior by large, complex systems, especially in mission-critical domains, is intended to be the catalyst and the aggregation stimulus for the overall event. After a through peer-review process, the CISIS 2021 International Program Committee selected 23 papers which are published in these conference proceedings achieving an acceptance rate of 40%. In this relevant edition, a special emphasis was put on the organization of special sessions. One special session is organized related to relevant topics as follows: building trust in ecosystems and ecosystem components. In the case of 12th ICEUTE 2021, the International Program Committee selected 17 papers, which are published in these conference proceedings. The selection of papers is extremely rigorous in order to maintain the high quality of the conference, and we would like to thank the members of the program committees for their hard work in the reviewing process. We are living in a critical moment, a reality marked by environmental and socio-economic limits that requires innovative and realistic forms of action and planning. This is what regenerative urbanism proposes, a new approach based on utopian pragmatism that seeks to restore balance to the urban territory by designing systems that allow it to adapt and transform. It is a methodology that defines models that do not consume available resources, but rather generate new ones that ensure compatibility between economic and social prosperity and nature. Santander, Hábitat Futuro (Santander, Future Habitat) is the city model created from this methodology, a proposal for the transformation of this city for the year 2055. It is an open model based on innovation and citizen participation that prepares and adapts the territory for the different scenarios to come. Santander, Habitat Futuro is a guide that directs the commitment of the different social, economic and political agents towards a common goal: to achieve a circular, sustainable, resilient, vertebrate, prosperous, vital and inclusive city. A model that, due to its innovative nature, can serve as an example to other intermediate cities around the world.
Colombia ha vivido grandes crisis a través de los años; crisis que permiten, gracias al aprendizaje que ésta genera, el desarrollo humano y la esperanza espiritual para lograr una reflexión en la convivencia. El problema de pasar de una economía cafetera a una economía minera ha ocasionado, por ejemplo, que los recursos naturales sean hoy la base del mal llamado "desarrollo", "progreso" y "crecimiento". Nothing else damages the earth's environment more than our cities. As the world's population has grown, our cities have burgeoned, and their impact on the environment worsened. Meanwhile, from the isolated, gated communities within Houston and Los Angeles, to the millions of residents of Bombay living in squalor, the city has failed to serve its ideal functions as the cradle of civilization, the engine of culture, and the inspiration for community and citizenship.
