Después que logran evadirse de los custodios que los persiguen encuentran al paso a tres alpinistas en una cabaña a quienes sorprenden y José asesina a sangre fría. Más tarde llegan a un poblado llamado Pueblo Seco, en donde José pretende violar a una pueblerina y desconoce a Manuel por oponerse a sus deseos e intenta matarlo; pero con la ayuda del abuelo de la muchacha logra vencer a José. Resultando esta una de muchas aventuras que corre Manuel, Finalmente cae enamorado, aunque también encuentra obstáculos para conseguir a su mujer.
