Excerpt from Kentucky Geological Survey, Vol. 1: Part One; July 1913 This statute repeals all previous statutes applying to the Kentucky Geological Survey, with the exception of sub-section 10 of section 20070 of Chapter 59a, which sub-section provides that an annual appropriation of shall be made for the carrying on of the work of the Geological Survey and further provides that $10, 000 of this amount is, under certain provisions (one of which is that the U. S. Survey shall appropriate an equal amount to be used in co-operation with the U. S. Geo logical Survey for the purpose of preparing topograph ical maps of such portions of the State as may mutually be agreed upon by the directors of the two Surveys. The remainder of the appropriation is to be used as directed in the Statute, for the prosecution of the general work in this State. In accordance with the above provisions of the Statute, the office, records, etc., of the Survey, with the exceptions of the State Museum, which remains in Lexington, have been removed to quarters in the annex to the old Capitol Building from which point the work of the State Survey has been carried ou.
