There were 5 more sawmills in 1997 than in 1994. Large sawmills producing more than 5 million board feet increased from 32 mills in 1994 to 35 mills in 1997. Medium sawmills producing 1 million to 5 million board feet rose from 189 mills in 1994 to 212 mills in 1997. The small sawmills producing less than 1 million board feet decreased from-191 mills in 1994 to 170 mills in 1997.
