After ten-plus years, significant funding support from many foundations and individuals, and the work of dozens of scholars, teachers, and volunteers, Ka Baibala Hemolele is available in the new orthography, which uses diacritics. It is the first time that the Hawaiian language bible has been formatted and printed with diacritical marking. Baibala Hemolele the Hawaiian Bible Project, a project of Partners in Development Foundation, initially began to electronically preserve the 1839, 1868, and 1994 printings of the Hawaiian Bible, but grew into a complete editing of the Bible to embrace the new orthography. The original translation, completed in 1839, played a significant role in the development of the Hawaiian language as a written language, and it continues to be a major linguistic, cultural, and spiritual resource for the Hawaiian community and Hawaiian language students throughout the world.

For many years, Hawaiian Dictionary has been the definitive and authoritative work on the Hawaiian language. Now this indispensable reference volume has been enlarged and completely revised. More than 3,000 new entries have been added to the Hawaiian-English section, bringing the total number of entries to almost 30,000 and making it the largest and most complete of any Polynesian dictionary. Other additions and changes in this section include: a method of showing stress groups to facilitate pronunciation of Hawaiian words with more than three syllables; indications of parts of speech; current scientific names of plants; use of metric measurements; additional reconstructions; classical origins of loan words; and many added cross-references to enhance understanding of the numerous nuances of Hawaiian words. The English Hawaiian section, a complement and supplement to the Hawaiian English section, contains more than 12,500 entries and can serve as an index to hidden riches in the Hawaiian language. This new edition is more than a dictionary. Containing folklore, poetry, and ethnology, it will benefit Hawaiian studies for years to come.

Hawai'i is a unique place on earth with awe-inspiring natural beauty ranging from white sand beaches, to plunging waterfalls, to cloud-covered summits. It's a place where the creation of land continues with fiery volcanic eruptions and streams of lava that cool, coil, and cement into hardened black rock out of which new life miraculously sprouts through cracks and crevices under the same sun that the demigod Māui slowed with his rope. These natural wonders invite us to slow down, drink in, and ponder the beauty before us--from misty rainbows, to dazzling sunrises and sunsets, to massive crashing waves. Meditations of Hawai'i invites you to meditate on God's work as reflected in Hawai'i's picturesque landscapes. Each stunning photograph is paired with scripture in both English and Hawaiian from Ka Baibala Hemolele to provide reflection, celebration, and instruction.

The fourth and final volume of the Hawaiian National Bibliography, 1780-1900, records the most volatile period in Hawaii's history. American business interests and the desire for a constitutional monarchy were pitted against the desire of the monarchs, King Kaläkaua and Queen Liliuokalani, to strengthen the power of the throne. The convulsions of the 1887 and 1889 revolutions were succeeded by the overthrow of the monarchy on January 17, 1893. Documents revealing the struggle over annexation, beginning in 1893, and the counterrevolution of 1895 are an important component of this volume. Annexation in 1898 was followed by a two-year period during which functions of government and laws were altered to conform to those of the United States. After the organic act became effective in 1900, vestiges of monarchical Hawaii disappeared and the history of the Territory of Hawaii unfolded. As with the previous volumes, Volume 4 is a record of printed works touching on some aspect of the political, religious, cultural, or social history of the Hawaiian Islands. A valuable component of this series is the inclusion of newspaper and periodical accounts, and single-sheet publications such as broadsides, circulars, playbills, and handbills. Entries are extensively annotated, and also provided for each are exact title, date of publication, size of volume, collation of pages, number and type of plates and maps, references, and location of copies.
