Since the beginning of time, God had a clear image of how He wanted His children to live. Although that plan has been altered by both humans and the great deceiver, Satan, God still has a plan to bring prosperity to His people through the power of multiplication. Now author Celeste Perez, building on a biblical foundation, demonstrates that God is the originator of the power of multiplication and that humans have the ability to use it for His glory. Today, there are promises that Christians can tap into through the power of multiplication. God does not want His people to live all their lives depending only on humankind or government assistance. Instead, He seeks to introduce them to a land where they can sow and reap. There is a blessing with your name on it, if you are willing to claim it. Your works should not be in vain; driven by purpose, they can change not only your life but also the lives of those around you and of generations to come. Inspiring and uplifting, this study and guide presents ways to use God’s power of multiplication in your life to prosper and grow more each day in Him.

Abelian varieties with complex multiplication lie at the origins of class field theory, and they play a central role in the contemporary theory of Shimura varieties. They are special in characteristic 0 and ubiquitous over finite fields. This book explores the relationship between such abelian varieties over finite fields and over arithmetically interesting fields of characteristic 0 via the study of several natural CM lifting problems which had previously been solved only in special cases. In addition to giving complete solutions to such questions, the authors provide numerous examples to illustrate the general theory and present a detailed treatment of many fundamental results and concepts in the arithmetic of abelian varieties, such as the Main Theorem of Complex Multiplication and its generalizations, the finer aspects of Tate's work on abelian varieties over finite fields, and deformation theory. This book provides an ideal illustration of how modern techniques in arithmetic geometry (such as descent theory, crystalline methods, and group schemes) can be fruitfully combined with class field theory to answer concrete questions about abelian varieties. It will be a useful reference for researchers and advanced graduate students at the interface of number theory and algebraic geometry.

After the outbreak of the zombie apocalypse, an elderly Swiss tourist finds himself stranded in America. Unable to go home, he and other survivors set up a small agricultural settlement in Alabama and defend it against marauders. After more than one year he manages to return to Europe, thanks to the French Navy. A few European countries, although severely affected by the zombie pandemic, had managed to hang on. He returns to America as advisor to a French scientific expedition. Their road trip takes them to the Gulf coast, West Texas, Kansas and the Appalachians. They return with important information about the zombies and about the few survivors in America. An alarming incident with a zombie brought back from America leads to one more trip across the ocean, this time as advisor to a battalion-sized French army unit. In the end the scientists succeed in finding the origin of the zombie pandemic.

This book deals with various aspects of commutants and reducing subspaces of multiplication operators on the Bergman space, along with relevant von Neumann algebras generated by these operators, which have been the focus of considerable attention from the authors and other experts in recent years. The book reviews past developments and offers insights into cutting-edge developments in the study of multiplication operators. It also provides commentary and comparisons to stimulate research in this area.

Previously Published as A Field Guide to Lies We’re surrounded by fringe theories, fake news, and pseudo-facts. These lies are getting repeated. New York Times bestselling author Daniel Levitin shows how to disarm these socially devastating inventions and get the American mind back on track. Here are the fundamental lessons in critical thinking that we need to know and share now. Investigating numerical misinformation, Daniel Levitin shows how mishandled statistics and graphs can give a grossly distorted perspective and lead us to terrible decisions. Wordy arguments on the other hand can easily be persuasive as they drift away from the facts in an appealing yet misguided way. The steps we can take to better evaluate news, advertisements, and reports are clearly detailed. Ultimately, Levitin turns to what underlies our ability to determine if something is true or false: the scientific method. He grapples with the limits of what we can and cannot know. Case studies are offered to demonstrate the applications of logical thinking to quite varied settings, spanning courtroom testimony, medical decision making, magic, modern physics, and conspiracy theories. This urgently needed book enables us to avoid the extremes of passive gullibility and cynical rejection. As Levitin attests: Truth matters. A post-truth era is an era of willful irrationality, reversing all the great advances humankind has made. Euphemisms like “fringe theories,” “extreme views,” “alt truth,” and even “fake news” can literally be dangerous. Let's call lies what they are and catch those making them in the act.

A perfect storm of trouble is brewing. Mysterious power outages, disrupted communications, and a rash of illness among the guards are only the beginning. Soon FURC Security Chief Anthony Nelson and his small, mostly inexperienced staff are overwhelmed by the hacking of the local network, the contamination of the food supply, and a seemingly impossible murder. And Lt. Katherine Miles can’t help. She’s far from the FURC on a secret mission and unable to warn them—if she can make it back at all, she’ll be bringing even more trouble with her… The series continues with Book 3: Compromised Inside, Book 4: Peripheral Encounters, and Book 5: Political Homicide.
