“Rose explores her myriad inspirations in this collection of twenty-five fashionable knitting projects that show the potential in beautiful yarn . . . marvelous.” —Library Journal Cirilia Rose is the epitome of the new knitwear designer—young, educated, curious, and excited to share her passion for all ideas knit and purl. Her attitude toward curating her own collection of designs is informed as much by travel, cultural history, and tried-and-true sourcebooks as it is by modern media and technology. In Magpies, Homebodies, and Nomads, Rose takes readers behind the scenes of her design process, showing them how she curates and organizes ideas and translates them into knitwear designs. Through twenty-five projects that fall into three categories—Magpies (accessories for the small amounts of precious yarns that knitters inevitably collect), Homebodies (garments for time spent close to home), and Nomads (garments to wear when venturing out into the world)—Rose shares her modern aesthetic and invites readers to develop their own. “So not only do we have twenty-five patterns—many of them timeless and some of them quirky—we also have a lot of attentive commentary on color selection, styling tips, and useful info on substituting yarns. This is one new book that I would highly recommend. Not only for the patterns, but especially for the spirit of the book and the thoughtful way Cirilia Rose approaches her knitting and explains her process.” —Knit and Tonic “This is a gem of a book.” —Kangath Knits “This latitude that Rose has given herself to combine disparate elements makes all her designs fresh, hip and youthful.” —My Central Jersey

“Each book in this series keeps getting better and better. I stayed up way past my bedtime with this one!” —Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews Their love is forbidden, but their hearts aren’t listening to rules and regulations… Lieutenant Dustin Strauss is a reformed man. No longer a twentysomething hell-raiser, he’s his SEAL team’s new XO—and a man with a secret. Or seven. He’s kept his bisexual identity under wraps for years, along with his kinky side and a fondness for the military-themed semianonymous hookup website Joe4Joe. His latest chat buddy is more than a sexy online distraction—they’re taking their very not-safe-for-work relationship into real time. Petty Officer Wes Lowe has a smart mouth, a take-charge attitude and an uncanny ability for making things go boom. The life of an enlisted man isn’t always enough to satisfy him, but one wild, no-questions-asked weekend with his online love comes close. When a transfer order comes in, Wes feels ready and centered. He’ll make a good impression on his new SEAL team and keep his growing feelings for Dustin on the down low. But as they log more time online and some very real emotions surface, Dustin and Wes struggle to pretend they’re just a harmless fling. And when his commander introduces Dustin to his team’s newest member, they’re in for the shock of a lifetime…and a crushing disappointment: their difference in ranks means even a friendship without sexual contact could end their navy careers for good. With their hearts on the line, Dustin and Wes may not survive their next mission, let alone find a way toward a future together. Johnny Crossbow an aged has-been on the pop music scene in San Francisco for the last forty years, tells his colleagues after a jazz session one Sunday night of three events in the life of his cousin back in Australia in the 60s. Shorty the drummer is set on getting Johnny to write a book about it and he undertakes to get it published. Flattered, Johnny sets out to put down on paper what he can dredge up from an addled mind. The San Francisco publishers however are slow to work on the book and want to change everything along the way, so Shorty sends the manuscript to a friend of his girlfriend in LA to turn it into a screenplay for a film. At the same time, and unknown to Shorty, Johnny's agent sends a second copy to his colleague in LA who writes a competing screenplay. When the finished products are sent to Johnny for approval, he doesn't recognise his scribbles in either of them and so happily sells to both the film rights to his book.
