Shutdown follows lockdown, and quarantine and home office have become the global standard to contain the Corona virus. However, there is another way to save lives while not further damaging the economy. Unfortunately, only hospitals are involved in Covid-19 care. That should definitely change. Family doctors could also help contain the pandemic! The author was infected with the Corona virus herself in 2020. During the course of her illness, which was diagnosed as a "flu-like infection," unexpected and threatening problems arose. It was impossible to get a doctor's appointment and hospitals were overloaded! Growing up in a family with an above-average medical staff, she had acquired medical knowledge on every possible occasion since childhood. She treated herself ... Any family doctor could do this kind of treatment! Political and medical decisions are approached. The entire course of the disease and also the events that were taking place in Germany, Europe and worldwide at the time are recounted in a loose narrative style. The book is available in several languages! German: Hallo Mediziner, Politiker und andere... Francais: Chers médecins, politiciens et autres... Espanol: Hola médicos, políticos y otros...

The New York Times best-selling book exploring the counterproductive reactions white people have when their assumptions about race are challenged, and how these reactions maintain racial inequality. In this “vital, necessary, and beautiful book” (Michael Eric Dyson), antiracist educator Robin DiAngelo deftly illuminates the phenomenon of white fragility and “allows us to understand racism as a practice not restricted to ‘bad people’ (Claudia Rankine). Referring to the defensive moves that white people make when challenged racially, white fragility is characterized by emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt, and by behaviors including argumentation and silence. These behaviors, in turn, function to reinstate white racial equilibrium and prevent any meaningful cross-racial dialogue. In this in-depth exploration, DiAngelo examines how white fragility develops, how it protects racial inequality, and what we can do to engage more constructively.

The Politics of Passion is the first comprehensive collection of the writing and art of Dr Norman Bethune. A Canadian medical pioneer and a communist, Bethune gained fame during the 1930s while serving in the Spanish Civil War and participating in China's struggle against Japanese invasion. This book sheds light on the man, the artist, and the revolutionary. It uncovers new historical material relating to several controversies surrounding Bethune. A remarkable document obtained from the Communist International Archives in Moscow, for instance, discusses why Bethune was sent home in disgrace from the Spanish Civil War. It refers to a mysterious Swedish woman, Kajsa von Rothman, who was Bethune's lover and who was believed by left-wing Spanish authorities to be politically suspect. This collection of Bethune's writings and art reveals that politics preoccupied him only during the last four years of his life. Earlier, his passionate nature found expression in medical and surgical innovation, as well as in painting, sketching, photography, writing - from poetry and short stories to letters, radio broadcasts, and plays - and public speaking. The Politics of Passion reveals the many sides of Bethune's identity, exploring not only the life of a revolutionary doctor, but of an intense and compassionate artist.

Includes the award-winning story "Razing Arizona!" Excerpts from Blush "At the Inauguration, a better tone was set when the incoming First Couple met the outgoing First Couple on the steps of the White House. There were hugs all round, and the incoming First Female Significant Other presented a gift to the outgoing First Female Significant Other. This kindness spurred the hovering photo-hounds into a frenzy of photo-hounding, until the Clintons leapt out of the First Shrubbery, stole the gift, and spirited it off to their First Legacy Museum. Bill Clinton then pardoned the shrubbery." "I'm building a politician, in case you're looking to buy one. For a while there, I was thinking of running for office myself. But I'm not going to lie to you. And there it is. If I can't lie to you, I'm not politically viable." "During a bone-chilling outbreak of global warming, Barack Obama was inaugurated President of the United States, and got three votes for the Papacy, and won the Rose Bowl. He immediately set the tone for his administration by having world-class musicians fake a music performance, while not paying their taxes. The new President then introduced us to his "twin-teleprompter" speaking style, making him look like he's constantly talking to 2 very tall voters on opposite sides of the room. Later in the month, Congress presented a Health Care Bill that everybody agreed was probably well-written." Online humorist Barry Parham is back with another acute collection of satire, targeting politics and other, less evil things. And when Barry's in the beltway, no party or platform is safe.

This is a simple but perennially recurring African story which must be read by women of all walks of life who have been cheated on or raped by chauvinistic men. It has contemporary relevance even in America. When you look at Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Edwards, (may she rest in peace), Sandra Bullock, O.J. Simpson’s wife (may she rest in peace), Scott Peterson’s wife (may she rest in peace), Oprah Winfrey, Maya Angelou and Elin Woods Nordegren and many others who are not as famous, you will see that cheating, rape, abuse and disrespect still rages in this God’s country. I am always drawn to a woman because she has some compassionate wisdom and tenderness which I first found in my mother and subsequently several other women. My mother is a woman, my sisters are women, my children are girls, and just as I hate my female relatives to be subjected to shame, disrespect, bias, sexual violence, domestic violence and painful divorce, so do I not want any female go through these. Most men are sexual aggressors. However, to me, the only sexual activity that doesn’t come with guilt is the one between the legal union of two people. Sex in the unmarried union, whether in the Western type of dating, or rape comes with guilt and consequences. No wonder there are so many failed marriages and broken homes. For us human beings, everything we do in truth, honesty, compassion and kindness makes us the genuine Homo sapiens that we should be. These days we think adultery, fornication, some marriages and war are right. I think that maybe God’s commandments (I have no problems with them) are obsolete because there seems to be a New World Order and we should pray to him to bring new ones to refl ect all these follies. As I have always realized, Homo sapiens should actually be called Homo stultus because we appear to be more foolish, wicked, and unforgiving than even animals. Without women the continuity of humankind will be put to a halt. Women suff er. Mary suffered a lot to see her son crucified by sinful men and that is enough. This is the tragic story of Agya Sei, a bigamist. It is set in Ghana and involves the eternal themes of power and the corruption of the individual (and a society) enthralled with its attainment. It is a colorful, fluid and ultimately engaging story.
