Moses Hanks (ca. 1747-1831), probably the son of Luke Hanks (d. ca. 1756), married Aggatha Doson, ca. 1768. They had twelve children, 1769-1793, all born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. The family migrated to Lincoln County, Kentucky, ca. 1798, and to Williamson County, Tennessee, in 1806. Descendants listed lived in Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and elsewhere.

William Scism was born in about 1776. He married Elizabeth Duncan in about 1802, probably in Tennessee. They had eight children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Tennessee, Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma.
