The Griffith family of Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Descendants of William Griffith (16--?-1699), who was in Maryland by 1675. He settled in Middle Neck Hundred and ca. 1687 married Sarah, the daughter of the Scotch quaker, John Maccubin, and his second wife, Eleanor. After William's death his widow married Thomas Reynolds, High Sheriff of Anne Arundel County, in 1716.
