Wardell Stephen "Steph" Curry born to Dell and Sonya Curry, on the 14th of March, 1988 is an American professional player who plays for the Golden State warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is 6ft 3inches (1.91) tall, weighing 190lb (86kg). Steph Curry, a point guard for the Golden State Warriors, is considered as one of the greatest shooter in NBA history. It is worthy of note that Steph's Dad played in the NBA for 16 years, but having a parent that plays in the NBA does not necessarily guarantee one would become one at some point, as in the case with Marcus Jordan. Most scouts in college dismissed Curry because of his small stature; he had to work really hard to be selected for college basketball. Steph had a great high school career. However, most of the other great NBA players of today had an even better high school career. Most other NBA stars win state for their high school singlehandedly. Steph led his team to state, but never won a state championship. Steph still had a good enough high school career to go to a division one college. His father went to Virginia Tech, so naturally Steph wanted to follow in his father's footsteps and also go to Virginia Tech. However, Virginia Tech did not offer Steph a scholarship. Steph was offered scholarships to Davidson, VCU, and Winthrop. Steph chose to go to Davidson. Curry played college basketball for Davidson, where he was named twice southern conference player of the year, setting the all time scoring record for both Davidson and southern conference. During His sophomore years he set the single-season NCAA record for the three-pointer made. Curry went on to be drafted by the Golden State Warriors during the 2009 NBA Draft. However because of his recurring injuries, during his first three years he was compared to Grant Hill, whose large potential wasn't fully realized due to being constantly injured very early in his career. Like most of the things in Curry's life, he bounced back and improved tremendously setting records on his way to stardom. With his team mates, especially his close friend Klay Thompson "Splash Brother," the devote Christian and family man has led the Golden State Warriors to relevance once again. The Golden state Warriors success in the NBA is not unconnected to Steph Curry's unstoppable form. Steph has been able to lift the Golden States Warriors with his Characteristic 3 pointers time and time over again. His impact on the team cannot be over emphasized. Stephen Curry has won many honors and awards over his basketball career, but the one that stands out to him the most is winning the 2011 NBA Skills Challenge. This contest puts 6 different elite Point Guards against each other in a race with different passing, shooting, and cutting drills. Stephen Curry loved this award because it showed that he was one of the best Point Guards in the NBA. Wardell Stephen "Steph" Curry is definitely a phenomenon and a rare breed of athlete that combines family life and sports, a rare thing for athletes to do, perfectly.
