Family history of various qualities have been written about the dependents of Daniel, Job and John Cole who first appear in the records of Plymouth Plantation in 1633. This detailed genealogy corrects errors discovered in previous publications and carefully documents one branch of the family leading from Daniel Cole through the first 11 generations. The text also traces family members back to England, details how they journeyed to America, confirms marital connections with several Mayflower voyagers, and follows the family as it expands and settled throughout the country. It is rich in painstakingly researched facts and includes a genealogical tree tracing the line, a full index of names, illustrations, maps and extensive bibliography. The work, researched over a 10 year period, makes use of more than 80 references listed in the bibliography. In addition to the Cole family, particulars on the Chandler, Collier, Cullen, Doane, Fuller, Hopkins, Hyde, Kimmich, Lyons, McCrimmon, Murray, Rogers, Smalley, Snow and Taylor families are found in its pages, along with facts on many other families that settled in the northeastern United States. This scholarly work will be of benefit to every genealogical researcher, serving as a valuable reference and research tool.

Dole Genealogy: The Mayflower sailed from England in 1620. John Howland and Elizabeth Tilley were aboard and would later marry and have ten children. Richard Dole came to New England aboard the ship Jonathan from Bristol, England, in 1639. These two lines would merge. Their descendants would gather Royal lineage from both English and French crowns. Relationship has been proven to the late Diana, Princess of Wales and the current English monarchy. Daniel Dole became a missionary to the Sandwich Islands - later called the Hawaiian Islands. He was the first headmaster of Punahou School. The missionaries would create the Hawaiian alphabet and print the first books in the local language. Sanford Ballard Dole was instrumental in the Hawaiian Revolution and the overthrow of Queen Liliuokalani which resulted in the end of the Hawaiian monarchy. He became President of the Hawaiian Republic and later, Governor of the Territory of Hawaii. James Drummond Dole became known as the Pineapple King and gave birth to a sustainable pineapple industry in the Islands through the company he founded: the Dole Hawaiian Pineapple Company. This is their story and that of others of the Dole family who have left their mark. The book includes pedigree charts to the 13th generation. Excerpt from The Early Genealogies of the Cole Families in America (Including Coles and Cowles): With Some Account of the Descendants of James Cole, of Hartford, Connecticut, 1635-1652, and of Thomas Cole, of Salem, Massachusetts, 1649-1672 His work was begun in 1871, but after some fifteen months of labor. Was laid aside because of the pressure of other duties. In January, 1886, it was again taken up, and the work done thus far is here presented. Following the tradition of my family, that Connecticut was the early home of my ancestors, investigation was made in that direction, and a large amount of material gathered, when the unreliability of the tradition became evident. A study of the first four generations of all the various families of the name then followed, and the right line found. It seemed that the results of that study might be of use to some future student if they were placed in an accessible form. The hope that this might be the case is the excuse for the first hundred pages of the text. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
