This Standard specifies methods of calculating the basic dynamic load rating of rolling bearings within the size ranges shown in the relevant standards, manufactured from contemporary, commonly used, high quality hardened bearing steel, in accordance with good manufacturing practice and basically of conventional design as regards the shape of rolling contact surfaces. This Standard also specifies methods of calculating the basic rating life, which is the life associated with 90 % reliability, with commonly used high quality material, good manufacturing quality and with conventional operating conditions. In addition, it specifies methods of calculating the modified rating life, in which various reliabilities, lubrication condition, contaminated lubricant and fatigue load of the bearing are taken into account. This Standard does not cover the influence of wear, corrosion and electrical erosion on bearing life. This Standard is not applicable to designs where the rolling elements operate directly on a shaft or housing surface, unless that surface is equivalent in all respects to the bearing ring (or washer) raceway it replaces. Double-row radial bearings and double-direction thrust bearings are, when referred to in this document, presumed to be symmetrical. Further limitations concerning particular types of bearings are included in the relevant clauses.

Industrial revolutions have impacted both, manufacturing and service. From the steam engine to digital automated production, the industrial revolutions have conduced significant changes in operations and supply chain management (SCM) processes. Swift changes in manufacturing and service systems have led to phenomenal improvements in productivity. The fast-paced environment brings new challenges and opportunities for the companies that are associated with the adaptation to the new concepts such as Internet of Things (IoT) and Cyber Physical Systems, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, cyber security, data analytics, block chain and cloud technology. These emerging technologies facilitated and expedited the birth of Logistics 4.0. Industrial Revolution 4.0 initiatives in SCM has attracted stakeholders’ attentions due to it is ability to empower using a set of technologies together that helps to execute more efficient production and distribution systems. This initiative has been called Logistics 4.0 of the fourth Industrial Revolution in SCM due to its high potential. Connecting entities, machines, physical items and enterprise resources to each other by using sensors, devices and the internet along the supply chains are the main attributes of Logistics 4.0. IoT enables customers to make more suitable and valuable decisions due to the data-driven structure of the Industry 4.0 paradigm. Besides that, the system’s ability of gathering and analyzing information about the environment at any given time and adapting itself to the rapid changes add significant value to the SCM processes. In this peer-reviewed book, experts from all over the world, in the field present a conceptual framework for Logistics 4.0 and provide examples for usage of Industry 4.0 tools in SCM. This book is a work that will be beneficial for both practitioners and students and academicians, as it covers the theoretical framework, on the one hand, and includes examples of practice and real world.

This volume provides a comprehensive introduction to the Translation Process Research Database (TPR-DB), which was compiled by the Centre for Research and Innovation in Translation and Technologies (CRITT). The TPR-DB is a unique resource featuring more than 500 hours of recorded translation process data, augmented with over 200 different rich annotations. Twelve chapters describe the diverse research directions this data can support, including the computational, statistical and psycholinguistic modeling of human translation processes. In the first chapters of this book, the reader is introduced to the CRITT TPR-DB. This is followed by two main parts, the first of which focuses on usability issues and details of implementing interactive machine translation. It also discusses the use of external resources and translator-information interaction. The second part addresses the cognitive and statistical modeling of human translation processes, including co-activation at the lexical, syntactic and discourse levels, translation literality, and various annotation schemata for the data.

This publication offers a framework for the empowerment of people living in poverty throughout the world that concentrates on increasing people's freedom of choice and action to shape their own lives. Based on analysis of practical experiences, the book identifies four key elements to support empowerment: information, inclusion and participation, improved accountability and local organisational capacity. This framework is then applied to five areas of action to improve development effectiveness: provision of basic services, improved local governance, improved national governance, pro-poor market development, and access to justice and legal aid. It also offers twenty 'tools and practices' which concentrate on a wide-range of topics to support the empowerment of the poor.

The aim of this edited volume is to introduce the scientific community to paleoenvironmental studies of estuaries, to highlight the types of information that can be obtained from such studies, and to promote the use of paleoenvironmental studies in estuarine management. Readers will learn about the the application of different paleoecological approaches used in estuaries that develop our understanding of their response to natural and human influences. Particular attention is given to the essential steps required for undertaking a paleoecological study, in particular with regard to site selection, core extraction and chronological techniques, followed by the range of indicators that can be used. A series of case studies are discussed in the book to demonstrate how paleoecological studies can be used to address key questions, and to sustainably manage these important coastal environments in the future. This book will appeal to professional scientists interested in estuarine studies and/or paleoenvironmental research, as well as estuarine managers who are interested in the incorporation of paleoenvironmental research into their management programs.

Quickly find solutions to dozens of common problems encountered while using XML and JSON features that are built into SQL Server. Content is presented in the popular problem-solution format. Look up the problem that you want to solve. Read the solution. Apply the solution directly in your own code. Problem solved! This book shows how to take advantage of XML and JSON to share data and automate tasks. JSON is commonly used to move data back and forth between the database and front-end applications, often running in a browser. This book shows all you need to know about transforming query results into JSON format, and back again. Also covered are the processes and techniques for moving data into and out of XML format for business intelligence and other purposes, such as when transferring data from a reporting system into a data warehouse, or between different database brands such as between SQL Server and Oracle. Microsoft intensively implements XML in SQL Server, and in many related products. Execution plans are generated in XML format, and this book shows you how to parse those plans and automate the detection of performance problems. The relatively new Extended Events feature writes tracing data into XML files, and the recipes in this book help in parsing those files. XML is also used in SQL Server's BI tool set, including in SSIS, SSR, and SSAS. XML is used in many configuration files, and is even behind the construction of DDL triggers. In reading this book you’ll dive deeply into the features that allow you to build and parse XML, and also JSON, which is a specific format of XML used to transmit objects in a web-friendly format between a database and its front-end applications. What You Will Learn Build XML and JSON objects in support of automation and data transfer Import and parse XML and JSON from operating system files Build appropriate indexes on XML objects to improve query performance Move data from query result sets into JSON format, and back again Automate the detection of database performance problems by querying and parsing the database’s own execution plans Replace external and manual JSON processes with SQL Server's internal, JSON functionality Who This Book Is For Database administrators, .NET developers, business intelligence developers, and other professionals who want a deep and detailed skill set around working with XML and JSON in a SQL Server database environment. Web developers will particularly find the book useful for its coverage of transforming database result sets into JSON text that can be transmitted to front-end web applications.
