God intends everyone to be successful in life, according to His plan and destiny for each person. He wants our lives to shine with His love and glory. The Alternative Plan is my testimony. Even though I was a renegade, God restored me, after I had spent years running away from Him to pursue an independent life. The early influences that shaped my outlook on life were based on poverty, a fear of failure, and a need for affirmation, security, and love. As a backslider, I relied heavily on my intellect, rationale, and professional accolades to succeed. I spent years wearily pursuing an empty, meaningless lifestyle based on ambition, self-reliance, and self-focus. But the Lord, in His goodness and mercy, led me through many difficulties to a secure place of complete trust in His lordship. No matter how many mistakes you have made or how far you have walked away from the Lord, God has not changed His plans for you. God can still realign your life to fit the plan He intended for you. All age-groups and young immigrants can benefit from my story. Culture shock and the sometimes fast-paced, high-pressure business world can certainly present a challenge of faith to newcomers trying to find their way in a new country. This book is for those who feel trapped, those who feel like they have lost themselves, or were disappointed in their search for success, security, and stability. The optimum path to success is Jesus Christ. This book is a testimony of how God’s mercy and love powerfully pursued and fully restored me. If God can do this for me, He can do the same for you!

It is a voluminous text of 1430 pages, compiled and composed during the period of Sikh Gurus, from 1469 AD to 1708 AD. Guru Gobind Singh (1666–1708), the Tenth and final living Guru, affirmed the sacred text Adi Granth as his successor, elevating it to Guru Granth Sahib. The text remains the holy scripture of the Sikhs, regarded as the teachings of the Ten Gurus. This book, and course, is designed to enable Christians to lead confidently based on their identity in Christ. Leadership is tough. Many leaders come to leadership from competence in a different field, without training, and fear that they cannot really lead and will be 'found out' one day. Many leaders are insecure, constantly assessing how they are coming across, and where challenges may arise. Being grounded in Christ is the foundation for all true Christian leadership. This identity-based leadership makes us less driven, reduces the risk of burnout, and enables us to survive personal attacks, use conflict positively and overcome other barriers to effective leadership. Once we operate from this secure base, centred and grounded in Christ, we become less vulnerable to threats to our status, we cease to have anything to hide (because we can afford to be vulnerable) and we are less likely to be blown off course by strong-willed people wanting to push their own agenda.

“If you picture the Bible to be a mighty tree and every word a little branch, I have shaken every one of these branches because I wanted to know what it was and what it meant.” —MARTIN LUTHER A great deal of biblical scholarship is written for academics and fails to edify readers or strengthen their Christian ministry. Yet, Christians need to be nourished by the word of God so they can mature in faith and righteousness. Filling this gap, The Branch Exposition of the Bible is a resource for preachers, scholars, and everyday Christians alike, to help open God’s word and shed its light into life, ministry and teaching. Inspired by the words of the great reformer Martin Luther about shaking every branch of Scripture, and with experience in ministering across Africa, India and the West, Michael A. Eaton helps us understand the meaning of the Bible and taste its fruit. With an Old Testament volume to follow, this exposition of the New Testament accessibly engages with the biblical languages, gives application for our lives, and leads us through each book of the New Testament so that we can meet the resurrected Jesus Christ in the pages of Scripture.
