This collection of verses is dedicated to my grandmother, the late Parvati Balasankar. She lived an exceptional, long life full of love and happiness. My hope in publishing this collection is that her favourite words will flourish and continue to speak to us.
From the RHS comes this compendium of poetry about gardens and garden plants, themes that have provided inspiration for poets since the dawn of time. The poems span many centuries and include the work of such great writers as Wordsworth, Spenser and Shakespeare.
Excerpt from Flowers From Glade and Garden: Poems Arranged and Illustrated There's a dance of leaves in that aspen bower, There's a titter of winds in that beechen tree, There's a smile on the fruit, and a smile on the flower, And a laugh from the brook that runs to the sea. And look at the broad-faced sun, how he smiles On the dewy earth that smiles in his ray. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
