This book constitutes the proceedings of the International Conference on ENTERprise information systems, held Viana do Castelo, Portugal, in October 2010.
The topic of Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) is having an increasingly relevant strategic impact on global business and the world economy, and organizations are undergoing hard investments in search of the rewarding benefits of efficiency and effectiveness that these ranges of solutions promise. Organizational Integration of Enterprise Systems and Resources: Advancements and Applications show that EIS are at the same time responsible for tremendous gains in some companies and tremendous losses in others. Therefore, their adoption should be carefully planned and managed. This title highlights new ways to identify opportunities and overtake trends and challenges of EIS selection, adoption, and exploitation as it is filled with models, solutions, tools, and case studies. The book provides researchers, scholars, and professionals with some of the most advanced research, solutions, and discussions of Enterprise Information Systems design, implementation, and management.
Enterprise Architecture A to Z examines cost-saving trends in architecture planning, administration, and management. The text begins by evaluating the role of Enterprise Architecture planning and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) modeling. It provides an extensive review of the most widely-deployed architecture framework models, including The Open Group Architecture and Zachman Architectural Frameworks, as well as formal architecture standards. The first part of the text focuses on the upper layers of the architecture framework, while the second part focuses on the technology architecture. Additional coverage discusses Ethernet, WAN, Internet communication technologies, broadband, and chargeback models.
Electronic enterprise is the road map to well-planned evolution of enterprise complexity with business and system strategies integration through standardized architectures of IT components. This work provides a vision for IT leaders with practical solutions for IT implementation.
Knowledge and Technology Adoption, Diffusion, and Transfer: International Perspectives is filled with original scientific and quality research articles on management information systems, technology diffusion, and business systems application aspects of e-commerce, e-government, and mobile application. As a forum of multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary dialogue, it addresses research on all aspects of innovation diffusion in the field of business computing technologies and their past, present, and future use. This title serves as a vital source of information for researchers and practitioners alike.
This book by Professor Michelini offers a vision of the future from today's point of view and a strategy for dealing constructively with the critical technical and social issues associated with over-consumption. The first basic interest and merit of the book relies on returning up to a primary analysis of economy standards. In fact, four kinds of assets are at our disposal. Two are tangible and offer a limited resource: the natural capital i.e. in rough the materials extracted from the Earth; the human capital summarised as a force of work. Two are intangible and offer unlimited exploitation: the financial capital, resulting in an increasing of richness and allowing pertinent investments; at last, the technological capital, permitting an efficient using of the three others, savings, services of any kind and, partially, recovering of other used resources. And the question deepened by R Michelini deals with a balanced and efficient organisation and exploitation of the four assets, resulting, on the one hand, in the conservation and even an improvement of the natural capital, and, on the other hand, in a safety in matter of well-being growth i.e. in matter of sustainable growth.
