The practical recommendations in this publication reflect the changes that have taken place in the iron and steel industry over the last 20 years or so, and changes to the ILO's approach to developing codes of practice. The field of occupational health and safety constantly changes, especially as it pertains to biomedical research. New infectious hazards are of particular importance at nonhuman-primate facilities.
