This collection consists of two typed manuscripts, both stamped "Triplicate" in the lower right-hand corner of the cover and with the heading "El Monte From the Pioneer Days." The first volume has the secondary heading "Biographical Sketches," and the second volume has the heading "Chapters I to XIV, Inclusive, Part One; and Chapters XV to XXV, Inclusive, Part Two."
