Performers look to DRAG mothers, fathers, friends, and fans for insight, compassion, and guidance as mentors. This book honors those special people. Over 140 entertainers contributed wisdom and words for this historical book, making it the largest project of its nature in GLBTQ history and the first published book on male and female mentors.
The first massive DRAG411 compilation book on the craft of male and female impersonation. Over 155 female impersonators (and 1 male impersonator) from around the world shared over a thousand insightful comments in the first handbook created of this art form.
The Largest bullying project in LGBT history for struggling entertainers. Advice from over a hundred male, female, and androgynous impersonators around the world to help entertainers struggling with their family, peers, relationships, neighbors, regular jobs, venues, and successfully overcoming self-doubt. Best-selling author Todd Kachinski Kottmeier created DRAG411 to document the lives of impersonator years ago. It is now the largest organization for impersonators on earth with over 7,000 entertainers in 32 countries.
The ground-breaking book smashed records around the world, and continues to be the number one compilation resource guide for the fourth year in a row. Two thousand, six hundred invitations were sent around the world to male and female impersonators. Each invitation begged them to invite entertainers they respected to join the dialogue. The original purpose for the information, was to create realistic characters for the novel, "Turn Around Bright Eyes" by Steve Hammond and Todd Kachinski Kottmeier (for the sequel to "Two Days Past Dead). The response to the survey broke LGBT records, inspiring the two authors to release the dialogue as their next book. The author's (and none of the contributing writers) earn a cent from this or any DRAG411 book. All of their money is donated directly in full to Joshua Tree. Joshua Tree Feeding Program assists HIV/AIDS families for over a quarter century to eat each week in a nation of plenty.
I sent hundreds of invitations in 2012 to the titleholders, pageant promoters, judges, and talent show hosts to share their wisdom. I asked each of them to send the questions crown holders they also respect as role models. Their insight to win pageants and contests is the same knowledge you need to perform every time you walk out on a stage. Every show you do needs to be as incredible as the best show. They reached into their hearts to share the following subjects with you: Auxiliary steps to success needed for Song Selection, dancing, movement on stage, props, backup dancers, creating your own edge, personal interviews, steps to success for winning the Talent category of the contest, On-Stage Questions, Eveningwear, and Creative Costume. They talk about wardrobe changes, makeup, hair, shoes, when it is time to compete, and the misconceptions competing.
