Fast-paced conversion story. Includes romance, worldly success, and monasteries. "Great Read! Spell binding...it kept me glued until one a.m. two nights in a row. Whatever you do don't go to bed reading this book! If Catholics had a New York best sellers list...it would be at the top of the charts. Catholics need to hear how God works in our lives...the book is a breath of fresh air, especially the charism of doing God's Will...this is mentioned by Jesus in the Gospels many times. We need to be reminded of this. This is what Pope Francis lives." -Deacon Guadalupe Rodriguez, Co-Director of Diaconal Formation, Diocese of Austin "'Divina Misericordia' recounts simply and accessibly how Jesus, the Divine Mercy, flooded the soul of an unlikely, fun-loving college student. Father Moses of Jesus shows how God's passionate love is boundless and out of our control in his receiving of two seemingly opposite gifts: speaking in tongues and later desiring to offer Jesus to the Father in the Extraordinary Form of the Mass. Very intriguing!" -Fr. Jim Marshall, S.J. "Father Moses tells his compelling story of when Trust and Hope meet in his traditional world and he engages the reader immediately on a well-guided tour of some life-changing experiences. He reminds us that when we are even reluctantly open to new experience (in this case the spiritual or the divine) and dare to step beyond the bounds of our rational capacity, the Presence of God breaks through the ordinary in extraordinary ways and 'great things happen when God mixes with man!'" -Dr. Mary Therese Torres, Licensed Psychologist, San Antonio, TX "What an engaging story of faith for our time! As you follow Father Moses through the peaks and valleys of his journey with Christ, you will be inspired by the wonders revealed to him and how they can mirror your own life. This universal tale will strike a chord deep within you." -Patrick Ryan, Communications Director, Texas Catholic Conference

‘Rewriting’ is one of the most crucial but at the same time one of the most elusive concepts of literary scholarship. In order to contribute to a further reassessment of such a notion, this volume investigates a wide range of medieval and early modern literary transformations, especially focusing on texts (and contexts) of Italian and French Renaissance literature. The first section of the book, "Rewriting", gathers essays which examine medieval and early modern rewritings while also pointing out the theoretical implications raised by such texts. The second part, "Rewritings in Early Modern Literature", collects contributions which account for different practices of rewriting in the Italian and French Renaissance, for instance by analysing dynamics of repetition and duplication, verbatim reproduction and free reworking, textual production and authorial self-fashioning, alterity and identity, replication and multiplication. The volume strives at shedding light on the complexity of the relationship between early modern and ancient literature, perfectly summed up in the motto written by Pietro Aretino in a letter to his friend the painter Giulio Romano in 1542: "Essere modernamente antichi e anticamente moderni".

Thematically focused on the theology of redemption or what is called in theology "soteriology," each of the two sections of The Redemption addresses biblical literature and significant moments in the history of Christian theology, and especially the work of Anselm of Canterbury. The second part of the book presents a significant treatment of the problem of good and evil, and introduces the important category of cultural evil. Most significant from the standpoint of Lonergan's original contribution is the treatment accorded in both Part 1 and Part 2 to what he calls "the just and mysterious law of the cross." The treatment of biblical literature contains a valuable distinction between "redemption as end" and "redemption as medium." Beginning with theses 15-17 from Lonergan's Collected Works, The Incarnate Word, this volume also includes rare and never-before-published texts originally written in the late 1950s.
