The explorers in the region now comprised in the diocese of Mackenzie River have been many and distinguished, so that even their names form a goodly list. The following may be referred to -mr. Samuel Hearne Sir Alexander Mackenzie Sir John Franklin and a second voyage in 1826, Admiral Sir George Back and Mr. King in 1833, Messrs.
