The volume contains the first six chapters of the 20 chapters that make up Part II. Chapters 1 and 2 present information on Sub-Region 'A' in eastern Pennsylvania; Chapters 3 and 4 cover Sub-Region 'B', which embraces central Pennsylvania and small portions of New York, Maryland and West Virginia. Chapters 5 and 6, Sub-Region 'C', cover a five-county area in northwestern Virginia. The first chapter of each pair presents physical and economic conditions in the sub-region today as well as estimates of the potential for future development and the role water may play. The second chapter contains a definition of the water related needs and the evolution of a water resources plan of development to meet those needs. The plan presented generally contains both structural and non-structural elements as well as future studies that will be required after anticipated growth trends begin to be realized.
