This is how the story begins, it was a Wednesday night and I went to a dance every Wednesday night at the P.S. Pavilion; a nice big dance hall like the big ones we had in Chicago, with the big bands. I felt like I was about 18 years old and I danced every dance. I had a few drinks and I left the dance about 11 :00 P.M. I got to bed about 11:45 p.m. I woke up about 5 a.m the next morning. I couldn't breathe, I was having a tough time breathing; so I called 911. I knew I was in some kind of trouble so I took my pajamas off, put on shorts and with that I put my medicare card and blue cross/blue shield card, and my driver's license in my pocket I waited out side. It seemed like an hour but it was probably only a few minutes, before the fire dept arrived with their wagon. I was standing in the driveway, waiting for them to arrive. I said, "I'm having a hard time breathing would you please give me some oxygen." They kept asking, what's your name, . . .where do you live? I kept asking them to please give me some oxygen. I was having a tough time breathing.

“I read Virginia’s novel in one sitting and was so captured by it I knew I had to make it and play Mrs. March. As a character, she is fascinating, complex, and deeply human and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into her.” —Elisabeth Moss A Jenny Lawson "Fantastic Strangeling Book Club" Selection Oprah Daily • Best of the Month USA Today • Books Not to Miss Who is Mrs. March? George March’s latest novel is a smash. No one could be prouder than his dutiful wife, Mrs. March, who revels in his accolades. A careful creature of routine and decorum, she lives a precariously controlled existence on the Upper East Side until one morning, when the shopkeeper of her favorite patisserie suggests that her husband’s latest protagonist—a detestable character named Johanna—is based on Mrs. March herself. Clutching her ostrich leather pocketbook and mint-colored gloves, she flees the shop. What could have merited this humiliation? That one casual remark robs Mrs. March of the belief that she knew everything about her husband—and herself—thus sending her on an increasingly paranoid journey that begins within the pages of a book. While snooping in George’s office, Mrs. March finds a newspaper clipping about a missing woman. Did George have anything to do with her disappearance? He’s been going on a lot of “hunting trips” up north with his editor lately, leaving Mrs. March all alone at night with her tormented thoughts, and the cockroaches that have suddenly started to appear, and strange breathing noises . . . As she begins to decode her husband’s secrets, her deafening anxiety and fierce determination threaten everyone in her wake—including her stoic housekeeper, Martha, and her unobtrusive son, Jonathan, whom she loves so profoundly, when she remembers to love him at all. Combining a Hitchcockian sensibility with wickedly dark humor, Virginia Feito, a brilliantly talented and, at times, mischievous newcomer, offers a razor-sharp exploration of the fragility of identity. A mesmerizing novel of psychological suspense and casebook insecurity turned full-blown neurosis, Mrs. March will have you second-guessing your own seemingly familiar reflection in the mirror.

Philly native Roberta Forest is a precocious rebel with the soul of a poet. The thirteen-year-old is young, gifted, black, and Catholic—although she’s uncertain about the Catholic part after she calls Thomas Jefferson a hypocrite for enslaving people and her nun responds with a racist insult. Their ensuing fight makes Roberta question God and the important adults in her life, all of whom seem to see truth as gray when Roberta believes it’s black or white. An upcoming essay contest, writing poetry, and reading The Autobiography of Malcolm X all help Roberta cope with the various difficulties she’s experiencing in her life, including her parent’s troubled marriage. But when she’s told she’s ineligible to compete in the school’s essay contest, her explosive reaction to the news leads to a confrontation with her mother, who shares some family truths Roberta isn’t ready for. Set against the backdrop of Watergate and the post-civil rights movement era, Malcolm and Me is a gritty yet graceful examination of the anguish teens experience when their growing awareness of themselves and the world around them unravels their sense of security—a coming-of-age tale of truth-telling, faith, family, forgiveness, and social activism.

The fact that she turned out to be their interfering new neighbor was an added and very convenient surprise. Aria Harper A new life started for Aria after inheriting Splendor Orchard Farm from her uncle—except there was more to her arrival in Louisiana. Finding out the targets she was after were her neighbors, was an added bonus, except the two brothers were so much more than she came prepared for, especially when they demanded she call them BOTH her Daddy. The Frazer brothers were fearless. They had been chasing criminals and mafia leaders for years. One thing they weren’t prepared for was a petite redhead out for revenge for the death of her father. Would they discover her true nature in time… or would who she was destroy the bond the two brothers had forever? On this journey, the age-old question arose—would true love conquer all? Only time will tell. Note: This is the finale in the Louisiana Daddies series. Although the book can be read as a standalone, the series should be read in order for best reader experience since there is a backstory throughout. Past studies of family language socialization often focus on children’s verbal communication skills and are conducted from the parents’ perspective. This book describes a child’s mostly self-directed and near-simultaneous multilingual and multiliterate development from birth to age 8. The present findings thus emphasize the critical role of child agency, and they may redefine and expand on the traditional theoretical framework of family language policy.

When it comes to advertising on the web, you just can't argue with the numbers. A $7 billion market today is expected to grow to $18.9 billion by 2010. Jupiter Research also estimates that search advertising will be a larger share of the market than display advertising by 2010. These phenomenal numbers are due largely to Google, which has changed the way the world publishes content - and advertises. Google Advertising Tools from O'Reilly examines the business and technology behind making money with content and advertising on the web. This focused, easy-to-read guide shows you how to use Google's advertising services to make it happen. You'll find all the background information you need to work with Google AdSense, which automatically delivers text and image ads that are precisely targeted to your site, and Google AdWords, which lets you generate text ads that accompany specific search term results. This book has specific and detailed sections on: Turning your web site into a profit center with AdSense Making sense of AdSense metrics Driving traffic to your site Optimizing sites for search engine placement Working with AdWords campaigns, auctions, and reports Managing campaigns dynamically using the AdWords APIs Once you've read all four parts, you'll have a comprehensive picture of how advertising works on the web and how you can use the Google advertising programs to your advantage.
