DOWNLOAD EBOOKThis new edition of John Illingworth's popular book provides a thorough introduction to the selection of construction methods, their planning and organization on site. Thoroughly revised and updated, Construction Methods and Planning takes a practical, down-to-earth approach and features numerous examples and illustrations taken from real situations and sites. In Part One, the main factors which determine the planning of construction methods - site inspections, the site itself, temporary works, design, cost concepts and selection of plant and methods - are discussed. In Part Two, the application of these tools is presented, covering foundations and basements, in situ and precast concrete structures, steel frames, cladding, internal and external works, waste, methods statements, contract planning control and claims. The author provides an extension of the concept of 'buildability' and new chapters on facade retention and the refurbishment of domestic accommodation.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKCyber-Physical Systems (CPSs) are mechanisms for monitoring and controlling processes using computer-based algorithms. In the construction industry, CPSs help to increase the viability of construction projects by reducing costs, time and management effort. This book aims to develop the fundamental concepts of construction project management associated with the CPSs and their applications within the modern construction industry in alignment with the scope of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0). The book has been structured in a systematic way for easy understanding by construction industry researchers and academic faculty. The first part of the book helps readers to develop a basic understanding of the fundamental concepts of construction project management and CPSs. Followed by the second part about the CPSs implementation framework and understanding the operational concepts associated with the notion of IoT and Digital Twins within the construction industry. The third part of the book describes modelling/simulation techniques to develop the customised CPSs for construction project management. The concluding part provides an in-depth review of applications of CPSs, associated threats and security.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKThe "EAU 2012" takes into account the new generation of standards, which is shortly to be introduced into the building control system; it consists of Eurocode 7, the associated national application documents and additional national regulations (DIN 1054:2010). In certain cases, partial safety factors are determined differently based on experience in practice. This means that the safety standard of sea and port buildings remains in place; the recommendations nevertheless satisfy the requirements for international recognition and application regarding the planning, design, specification, tender procedure, construction and monitoring, as well as the handover of - and cost accounting for - port and waterway systems under uniform criteria.
