DOWNLOAD EBOOKSeventh-day Adventist editors from all parts of the world met in Washington, D.C., in August, 1939, to participate in a general editorial council, the first to be held. As a source of inspiration and guidance to this group, the leaders of the denomination arranged to have placed in their hands the E.G. White instruction which had been directed to our writers and editors through the years, drawn from both published sources and manuscripts, in the form of a little paper-bound work entitled Counsels to Editors. Five hundred copies of this little work were printed, and the stock was soon exhausted. It seems appropriate to make this volume of counsels generally available through a new edition, which is now issued as a permanent publication. - The Object of Our Publications. DOWNLOAD EBOOKThis paradigm-shifting book helps believers understand the process of being transformed by God's grace and truth, and challenges them to be a part of the process of discipleship in the lives of their fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Counseling One Another biblically presents and defends every believer's responsibility to work toward God's goal of conforming us to the image of His Son-a goal reached through the targeted form of intensive discipleship most often referred to as counseling. All Christians will find Counseling One Another useful as they make progress in the life of sanctification and as they discuss issues with their friends, children, spouses, and fellow believers, providing them with a biblical framework for life and one-another ministry in the body of Christ.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKWhat role does Scripture play in counseling? Today, we face a weakening of confidence in the Bible. This is just as true for the pastor offering counsel in his office as it is for the person in the pew talking with a struggling friend. We need to regain our confidence in God's living Word as sufficient to address the real-life issues we face today. Scripture and Counseling will help you understand how the Bible equips us to grow in counseling competence as we use it to tackle the complex issues of life. Divided into two sections, Part One develops a robust biblical view of Scripture’s sufficiency for "life and godliness" leading to increased confidence in God's Word. Part Two teaches how to use Scripture in the counseling process. This section demonstrates how a firm grasp of the sufficiency of Scripture leads to increased competence in the ancient art of personally ministering God's Word to others. Part of the Biblical Counseling Coalition series, Scripture and Counseling brings you the wisdom of twenty ministry leaders who write so you can have confidence that God’s Word is sufficient, necessary, and relevant to equip God’s people to address the complex issues of life in a broken world. It blends theological wisdom with practical expertise and is accessible to pastors, church leaders, counseling practitioners, and students, equipping them to minister the truth and power of God’s word in the context of biblical counseling, soul care, spiritual direction, pastoral care, and small group facilitation.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKThe foundation truth is that God made and upholds everything with the Word of His power. His Word is truth; His Word is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the Spirit of truth while the devil is the spirit of error. The root cause of every problem is ignorance of the truth. The solution is in seeking, acknowledging, and applying the truth. Jesus Christ; the living Word of God is a privilege beyond description. He came to bear witness to the truth. Truth is the keys to salvation and the kingdom of God. Jesus said, `And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.' (John 8:32). There is no other way but the truth. `For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.' (2 Corinthians 13:8). For a meaningful, significant, fulfilled, and abundant life to be attained, knowing the truth is inevitable. Those who were ordained for eternal life seek, hear, understand, acknowledge, stand, and manifest the truth. `But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.' (John 20:31). Truth is light. It will help you to navigate the journey through life filled with errors, snares, pitfalls, tests, trials, troubles, and temptations. Those who are of the light comes to the light. Therefore build upon the sure foundation and anchor your life on Christ Jesus. Be always ready to affirm, `THY WORD IS TRUTH.'
