Children with sensory processing disorder (SPD) show academic underachievement, inattention, and disruptive behaviors in general education settings. This project explores the need for environmental modifications and instructional supports in general education inclusive classrooms. The literature shows that individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and/or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) often experience SPD as a comorbid condition, which negatively impacts their ability to learn and function at school.
