Excerpt from 1904 Autumn Catalog of Bulbs, Seeds, Plants Chinese sacred lily - This variety is the Tazzetta, or bunch flowering Narcissus, and is the sort grown by the Chinese for use in their New Year festivals. The bulbs are very large, averaging three to four inches in diameter, and as they throw up several stems when well grown, the flowers are produced in profusion. It is very easily grown, bears pure white flowers with a lemon or orange cup. The Chinese method is as follows: Fill a bowl, or some similar vessel, with pebbles, in which place the bulb, setting in about one - half its depth, SO that it will be held firmly, then fill with water to the top Of the pebbles and place in a warm, sunny window.
