As I observed young children board the bus for the first time and tried to calm their fears or reassure them that their moms or dads would be waiting at the bus stop when we got there at the end of the day""and then watched as these children grew up""I realized that some of my experiences might help other children to be less afraid when they begin riding the school bus. I also realized that children are very curious by nature, and they love to watch as big machines work. They are equally fascinated by the lights on a school bus as they are with a tractor or a crane.
