DOWNLOAD EBOOKSawyer Brooks, Sr. (1800-1860) was born in Greene County, Georgia to Samuel Brooks and Elizabeth Starkey. At a young age he fought in the Creek Indian Wars. In 1822 he married Rebecca Mitchell. They were the parents of seven children. One of their children was Samuel Brooks, Sr. (1829-1895) who married Eliza Ann McClammy and, later, Narcissa S. Hammond and Margaret A. Kirksey. He was the father of twelve children. Descendants live in Alabama.
