The book presents the following counterintuitive theoretical results breaking several paradigms of quantum mechanics and providing alternative interpretations of some important phenomena in atomic and molecular physics. 1) Singular solutions of the Schrödinger and Dirac equations should not have been always rejected: they can explain the experimental high-energy tail of the linear momentum distribution in the ground state of hydrogenic atoms. Application: a unique way to test intimate details of the nuclear structure by performing atomic (rather than nuclear) experiments and calculations. 2) Charge exchange is not really an inherently quantal phenomenon, but rather has classical roots. Application: continuum lowering in plasmas. 3) The most challenging problem of classical physics that led to the development of quantum mechanics — the failure to explain the stability of atoms — can be solved within a classical formalism that has its roots in Dirac's works. The underlying physics can be interpreted as a non-Einsteinian time dilation. 4) In two-electron atoms/ions, the spin-spin interaction (singular in its nature), usually considered unimportant, makes a significant contribution to the binding energy. 5) In magnetized plasmas the standard Inglis-Teller concept, concerning the number of observed lines in spectral series of hydrogen, breaks down. Application: new plasma diagnostic. 6) Extrema in transition energies of molecules/quasimiolecules can result in dips (rather than usually considered satellites) within spectral lines. Application: the experimental determination of rates of charge exchange between multicharged ions — important for magnetic fusion in Tokamaks, for population inversion in the soft x-ray and VUV ranges, for ion storage devices, and for astrophysics.

When you're doing something that's out of the ordinary, your mental programing, your paradigm, will try and stop you. If you want to win, you must keep going. Your paradigms may be masked in complacency, fear, worry, anxiety, insecurities, self-doubt, mental hurry and self-loathing—the result is keeping you STUCK....locked in a box and starved of your dreams and ambitions. To change your life—you MUST change your paradigm. The change is not easy, but it's worth it, and the results are lasting. Bob Proctor will show you his proven methods for doing so. This book will synthesize his decades of study, application, and teaching to: • Explain what paradigms are and how they guide every move you make • Teach you how to identify your paradigms • Show you how to make your own Paradigm Shift • Help you transform your finances, health and lifestyle when you change your paradigm • Guide you on how to replace a paradigm that doesn't serve you well with a new one that frees you to create the life you really want Bob will break through the myth many people have about success—that long hours and hard work are sufficient to achieve lasting success. Because without changing your paradigm, no amount of hard work and long work hours will make a measurable, lasting difference in your success. Once you go through Bob Proctor's Paradigm Shift Process, you will expose yourself to a brand new world of power, possibility and promise.

Seeking compelling answers to this reality of loss and suffering, I found in God's Word the spiritual key I share in this book, with the certainty that many lives will be set free, many families will be transformed, and generations will be built up by understanding and putting into practice the teachings I received from God and share here. And it is precisely to these lives and families that I dedicate this book, praying to the Father that they may be free to enjoy fully the blessings that Jesus conquered on the cross of Calvary.

The empirical study of consciousness is in constant progress. New ideas and approaches arise, methods are being debated and refined, and experimental research over the last two decades has produced a rich body of data, acquired in the aim to better understand consciousness and its neural underpinnings. This volume synthesises this data, focusing on how to understand the relations and transitions between consciousness and unconsciousness alongside exploring and distinguishing conscious experience of sensory stimuli and unconscious states. Bringing together leading academics and promising young scientists from across the fields of psychology and neuroscience, Transitions between Consciousness and Unconsciousness discusses controversial topics and ideas, providing an overview of current research trends and opinions, as well as perspectives on theoretical and methodological questions. This is an essential volume for consciousness researchers and students from across psychology, neuroscience and philosophy, as well as those researching modes of visual processing.
