1. PURPOSE. This Manual establishes policies and procedures for the training, qualification, and certification of Auxiliary members for patrol duty on Coast Guard Auxiliary vessel facilities. 2. ACTION. Area, district, and sector commanders, commanders of maintenance and logistics commands, commanding officers of integrated support commands, commanding officers of headquarters units, assistant commandants for directorates, Judge Advocate General and special staff elements at Headquarters shall ensure compliance with the provisions of this Notice. Where the provisions of this Manual differ from the Auxiliary Manual, COMDTINST M16790.1 (series), the provisions of this Manual shall apply. 4. DISCUSSION. This Manual is part of the complete revision of the Coast Guard's family of boat crew training and qualification publications. These publications are being revised to reflect the best and safest practices in the Coast Guard Auxiliary fleet. 5. RESPONSIBILITY. Commandant (CG-3PCX-2) is responsible for the content and upkeep of this Manual.
