He married Nancy Franzetta Smith, daughter of John Calvin Lazelle Smith and Sarah Fish, in 1873 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They had ten children. He married Sarah Sariah Johnson, daughter of King Banjamin Johnson and Mary Ellender Johnson, in 1882. They had six children. He died in 1898 in Richfield, Utah.
