The T-26 was the first major Soviet armour program of the 1930s, beginning as a license-built version of the British Vickers 6-ton export tank. Although the T-26 retained the basic Vickers hull and suspension, the Red Army began to make extensive changes to the turret and armament, starting with the addition of a 45mm tank gun in 1933. The T-26 was built in larger numbers than any other tank prior to World War II. Indeed, more T-26 tanks were manufactured than the combined tank production of Germany, France, Britain, and the United States in 1931–40. This book surveys the development of the T-26 as well as its combat record in the Spanish Civil War, the war in China, the border wars with Poland and Finland in 1939–40, and the disastrous battles of 1941 during Operation Barbarossa.

In 2000, Walt Disney Pictures released the film Remember the Titans which stirred the hearts of many but falsely depicted the Titans of T.C. Williams playing their arch-rival, George C. Marshall, in a nail-biter of a championship football game decided on the last play in a place called Roanoke Stadium. Wrong! The Titans played a small and scrappy bunch of players from Salem known as the Wolverines of Andrew Lewis High in the historic Victory Stadium of Roanoke. Salem native Mark A. O’Connell sets the record straight for all time in this book which tells the true story of the championship game and also links the 1971 Andrew Lewis High “Wolverines” to a lasting-legacy which had begun in 1962 under legendary head Coach Eddie Joyce. During the 1971 season, Andrew Lewis played 7 schools that had student enrollments over 2,000 while Lewis’s enrollment was only 975 students. Lewis was 12-1 that year, its only loss to T.C. Between 1962 and 1971, Andrew Lewis won 2 state championships (‘62,’64) and was runner-up 3 times (‘66,’67 and ‘71) as a member of the largest classification in Virginia. Beyond MAUS. The Legacy of Holocaust Comics collects 16 contributions that shed new light on the representation of the Holocaust. While MAUS by Art Spiegelman has changed the perspectives, other comics and series of drawings, some produced while the Holocaust happened, are often not recognised by a wider public. A plethora of works still waits to be discovered, like early caricatures and comics referring to the extermination of the Jews, graphic series by survivors or horror stories from 1950s comic books. The volume provides overviews about the depictions of Jews as animals, the representation of prisoner societies in comics as well as in depth studies about distorted traces of the Holocaust in Hergé's Tintin and in Spirou, the Holocaust in Mangas, and Holocaust comics in Poland and Israel, recent graphic novels and the use of these comics in schools. With contributions from different disciplines, the volume also grants new perspectives on comic scholarship.
