A conference on atomic transport in solids and liquids was held on the island of Marstrand, Sweden. This conference placed special emphasis on atomic drift in electric fields and in thermal gradients, i.e., electro- and thermomigration. The majority of the papers dealt with solids, primarily metals, but there were several papers concerned with liquids and with non-metallic solids. One group of papers discussed the effect of high pressure on diffusion processes, and a number of reports considered the isotope and correlation effects. (Author).
