This volume constitutes the refereed proceedings presented at the international workshops of the 26th European Conference on Artificial Intelligence, ECAI 2023, which was held in Kraków, Poland, in September-October 2023. Artificial intelligence, or AI, now affects the day-to-day life of almost everyone on the planet, and continues to be a perennial hot topic in the news. This book presents the proceedings of ECAI 2023, the 26th European Conference on Artificial Intelligence, and of PAIS 2023, the 12th Conference on Prestigious Applications of Intelligent Systems, held from 30 September to 4 October 2023 and on 3 October 2023 respectively in Kraków, Poland. Since 1974, ECAI has been the premier venue for presenting AI research in Europe, and this annual conference has become the place for researchers and practitioners of AI to discuss the latest trends and challenges in all subfields of AI, and to demonstrate innovative applications and uses of advanced AI technology. ECAI 2023 received 1896 submissions – a record number – of which 1691 were retained for review, ultimately resulting in an acceptance rate of 23%. The 390 papers included here, cover topics including machine learning, natural language processing, multi agent systems, and vision and knowledge representation and reasoning. PAIS 2023 received 17 submissions, of which 10 were accepted after a rigorous review process. Those 10 papers cover topics ranging from fostering better working environments, behavior modeling and citizen science to large language models and neuro-symbolic applications, and are also included here. Presenting a comprehensive overview of current research and developments in AI, the book will be of interest to all those working in the field.

Artificial intelligence is no longer solely the preserve of computer scientists and researchers; it is now a part of all our lives, and hardly a day goes by without discussion and debate about the implications of its many applications in the mainstream media. This book presents the proceedings of CCIA 2023, the 25th International Conference of the Catalan Association for Artificial Intelligence, held from 25 - 27 October 2023 in Barcelona, Spain. CCIA serves as an annual forum welcoming participants from around the globe. The theme of the 2023 conference was Supportive AI, the main goals of which are to strengthen collaboration between research and industry by sharing the latest advances in artificial intelligence, and opening discussion about how AI can better support the current needs of industry. Computers and automation have revolutionized the lives of most people in the last two decades, and terminology such as algorithms, big data and artificial intelligence have become part of our everyday discourse. This book presents the proceedings of CAIBDA 2023, the 3rd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Algorithms, held from 16 - 18 June 2023 as a hybrid conference in Zhengzhou, China. The conference provided a platform for some 200 participants to discuss the theoretical and computational aspects of research in artificial intelligence, big data and algorithms, reviewing the present status and future perspectives of the field. A total of 362 submissions were received for the conference, of which 148 were accepted following a thorough double-blind peer review. Topics covered at the conference included artificial intelligence tools and applications; intelligent estimation and classification; representation formats for multimedia big data; high-performance computing; and mathematical and computer modeling, among others. The book provides a comprehensive overview of this fascinating field, exploring future scenarios and highlighting areas where new ideas have emerged over recent years.
